Hi Fishes, I am considering a Senior Engineer role with Alteryx (previously Hyper Anna) Sydney. If it's not too much trouble, I was hoping if anyone here could share their experience of working at Alteryx Sydney in terms of Culture, work life balance, politics, work pressure, people, Leadership and product. Thanks.

I’d expect the prod company to hire a casting director/agency who has a background/specialty in real people casing
I work at and ad agency and we do tons of real people type spots / OLVs. We do the casting ourselves because it’s too expensive to have a line producer and production team / company on for the month it takes to cast - we send out US and Canada wide because our specs are pretty specific. We do share our top 10ish people when we reach out to directors so they can write their treatment around a few of the selects. But we hold off on callbacks until we award so the actual director can be there and take over.
So yes. We engage a casting director (or sometimes 2) and pay them directly
Check out genuine real people - great casting co
The production company should absolutely take care of that for you! We love and have had incredible success with Tom Ohare who runs Tempest Casting. Good luck!
It depends. If the prod house has casting capabilities then you do everything thru them, if not, bid it separately with a casting agency.
Best real person cast=== Dan bell!! He’s the best!! Just depends on the job, but most of my real people jobs the directors have been involved for casting. Since real people casting can take a few weeks, usually the ep of the production company oversees, then brings on the LP after casting is approved.
I have used Dan Bell years ago but how’s always booked now
I should mention. We are a non union shop too. We have used Stacy Gallo casting in NY and O’Conner casting in CHI
STAY AWAY FROM PEOPLE FARM CASTING. TOXIC
Check out DS casting in LA
Seconding the fine folks at Genuine. I definitely agree it’s best to hire a real people casting company. The money is well spent to have pros handle it.
Nina Day in NYC is great for real people casting. If you are looking in the Midwest region, check out Cream City Casting.
(2/2) If you do the latter, any specific casting agencies you love and would recco?
Whew! What’s up w People Farm?!
Also, thanks so much for the insight y’all. @EP1, did you just cast thru Backstage?
Anyone else, would love some “real ppl” casting co reccos!
The owner nick does not understand advertising. He does a lot for reality TV and didn’t get the multiple questions to make sure these were really people (you’ll get a lot of wanna be actors faking it). He personally threatened me and hung up on me multiple times. He also threatened to withhold cast info once we did pick our heroes and “ruin our shoot”
And no. We did not go through Backstage. I reached out to a few casting directors directly
Who hires producers at Conde Nast? They need to hire me. Lol
Wulf Casting, Genuine Real People, Stacy Gallo, Donna Grossman, Nina Day, Fay Shumsey are all viable, reliable options for casting companies.
You could always post directly on Casting Networks or Breakdown Express/Actors Access, but then you have to schedule, hold, and tape the casting sessions yourself.
Fay shumsey/David Morris casting! <3 me some David Morris! They are both great.
