Even going outside for a casual 30-45 minute walk helps, any activity that gets you moving
Yeah, trying to make that happen. Last week when I stepped out in snow boots, by the time I got back (after ~20 mins), my ankle joints were hurting. So I stopped going...
My wife, does Yoga Burn after the kids go to sleep... it seems pretty straight forward, and I think it increases in intensity over time. I’ll say this, she’s looking hella foine 😂
“Yoga with Adriene” is an EXCELLENT free yoga resource on YouTube that is really well suited to beginners. There are videos of all lengths (many around 20 min or less) that are targeted to either parts of the body (“Upper Back Love” is a favorite of mine) or the way you want to feel (“Sunrise Yoga” or “Yoga for the Winter Blues”). She even has a whole series on yoga for weight loss. Best part: you can sign up with her to receive daily emails for a new curated program every month. It’s a great motivator to know you’re in this together with people all over the world but also have the freedom to practice asynchronously, when you have the time to spare.

I am literally twice your weight but, I assure you, not twice your height.
You'll be okay.
Intermittent fasting works well for me (I like the simplicity of only 2 meals a day in an 8 hour window) and it’s helped me keep weight off even when I couldn’t work out as much.
Start drinking muscle milk and taking creatine. Put on some '80s short shorts. Rocky soundtrack on repeat. You got this.
Okay. I'll look into it, thank you!. Clearly have no idea what these are/do
Start small! Block off some time every day to go take a walk and slowly start adding some movements into your work out and build back up to doing gym/full workouts
Omg me! Hear me out, I tried to small changes and it wasn’t sticking. I recently tried Whole30 and personally doing something I had to commit to and was more difficult made me take it more seriously and felt like a real reset
Just read up on it. It feels restrictive and feels like I'll prob do worse after 30 days. Any advice from you who has already completed this program?
How did you get back to normal eating?
Peloton will get you to where you need to be. Don’t fret.

Have you considered Fight Milk? Caw!
Only works if you’re a bodyguard unfortunately :/

How many of these “it’s simple math” responses are from women over 40? Because in my 30s that is what I would have said, and what worked for me. Over 40 is so different....and that’s not an excuse. I work hard on my diet and exercise...but metabolism and hormones after 40 is a tricky thing.
+ 1 on good health! That’s my # 1 priority as well.
Nike Training Club app!
If you cut 150-200 calories out each day (~ a Greek yogurt) and do 20 minutes of movement (walk, yoga, barre, run) every day your body will start to relax. And then in a couple weeks you can take on more strenuous physical activity.
Also if your body hurts this much after gaining 15lbs. You should probably talk to your doctor
Yeah, I prob also need like a chiropractor/physical therapist to get some 'assist' with these joint pains.
I had my blood work a couple months ago and my doc had checked for any arthritis related stuff, so all that came back negative.
I definitely think (or know) it's because I haven't been anything/sitting in bad postures/working from bed/not walking around and just planting my ass in one place for hours.
I just need to get back up slowly and consistently
I bought a withings smart scale to measure weight, body fat, body water, muscle mass everyday and an Apple Watch that I set to requiring 60 minutes and 760 calories of exercise everyday. I also synced up Fitness pal to Apple health kit.
This gave me activity, calories, and desired output variables all in one place.
Voilà - got down from 215 to 203 since New Year’s Day. Need to get to 175 now.
Ooooh, that sounds like a good idea. To measure body fat, water weight, etc. I'll read up on it
Best thing I ever heard was no one can physically make you eat or drink anything. It’s all up to you what you put into your body. Once I heard this is changed my perspective that my body and how I feel physically is all based on my actions.
Start with small habits. 30 mins of an enjoyable exercise for you. Drink more water. Get good sleep.
You got this!
Start with what you love to do, and do that/do the incremental steps needed to reach that... Also remind yourself that bodies are dynamic and designed to change to suit the demands we place on them. You’ll get back to where you need to be; don’t forget to love yourself and what you’re doing in the process
We got a spin bike and it’s a perfect early morning or night time thing. I do a cycling/HIIT workout or I just put on a podcast and ride.
I was in a rut for sure. Hadn’t gained a lot during Covid but was feeling shitty and added some weight over the last few years. Recently bought a peloton and after not working out consistently for 4 years, I just finished my ride for the 22nd day in a row. I feel like I finally found what I needed.
1. Download Chronometer App - measure what you eat for a week or so to know what's happening
2. I tend to use my Jabra 75ts to take calls and move around the house when I can, helps with the steps
3. Force an evening walk/run/lifting routine, even for 15 mins
Weight gain is usually increase in caloric intake and reduction in energy expenditure. Walking is so underrated but works wonderfully to burn calories without making you hungry
Thank you for the app suggestion, I'll check it out.
DM me I do health coaching on the side and would be happy to help🙂
Oh! Thank you! On my way :)
