I am trying to break into medical/pharma myself and see most companies do require experience with medical devices and pharma. However, if you have science/medical background that would be great. 15 YOE also speaks in and of itself, so they might be willing to overlook if you can show you have learned the industry/can learn the industry.

Focus on your existing skills in customer service. Additionally, I would try getting negotiation and sales training somewhere, which will set you apart from other candidates!

My opinion is try to learn more on the medical device that you are planning sell and learn the medical terms and it’s use cases and how it can value the end users read more on target audience and how you position the device to them and go with a go to market plan when you attend the interview this will surely help standing out from your experience

Awesome. THis is really solid advice. I was looking into making the switch as well. Thank you for this comment!

Make sure to emphasize your soft skills - communication, self-motivation, adaptability, confidence, problem-solving, research, etc.

Family based 485 applicants can you please share your timeline? My husband’s application was done in September 2021 but we haven’t even got his EAD yet. We got a deficiency notice for medical exam but that’s it.

Can anyone share the salary structure who works remotely for the US, UK or any other foreign company?

Interested to see whether we get the same tax and other benefits as we do get in local jobs like car allowance, medical insurance, internet allowance etc.

1YOE medical device NPI Lead looking for salary perspective

Mechanical engineering grad, joined a medical device startup that I had done co-ops at. 8mo into full-time, pivoted from engineering into more of an operations role doing new product introduction (NPI), now with 3 direct reports.

The combination of startup+medical device+NPI seems very unique and I'm struggling to find salary comparables. Currently making 75k but it feels very low given my new responsibility and impact. Any advice?

I’ve been sick and have been really turned off by how I’ve been treated by one of the partners I report to, especially since I do good work which has been acknowledged. I will be looking to leave anyways, but I would like to not be in this position again in the future- what signs do you look for when interviewing that it will be a good fit culturally? I felt like overall I felt good vibes at my current role so I’m having a hard time trusting my gut.

I have been with my company 20+ years. This past year they did a sales market restructure - directions from new upper management. The restructure has been less than favorable toward my commission goals. The coming years don’t look promising. There are sales people making $$$ only here 1-2 years because they were given all my opportunities. It is hard to leave this company - it has been great until now with the changes. I have a very strong job offer elsewhere - but worried about non compete.

Do any managers do more than just manage and lead the team?

Currently I manage the team, manage accounting, handle HR, handle marketing such as documents and emails, provide all of the technical support, and sell.

My boss still works from home and only looks at the phone report to check the productivity. They refuse to look at my reports or complete activity logs. Because I have 4 hours of no phone activity daily, my boss believes I am not working hard enough.

I was very successful as an internaional sales exec at a startup for 15 years before we were bought by a large publicly traded company. The culture shift was dramatic, as was the way that I was expected to work. I was laid off a tortuous 3 years after the buyout.

While I was in some ways relieved (put me out of my misery!) I spiralled pretty hard and after a while started working PT jobs, gig type stuff, etc. while I figured things out, and healed from burnout.

I am a sales rep and have worked extremely hard to build a large book of business. Every year upper management seems to find a way to cut commissions and make my hard work, worth less. Is this common? It’s pretty draining to work harder and get paid less year over year even though you’re typically getting more business. I don’t feel valued. Do more for less? Any other great sales companies/ industries that people are happy with and compensated accordingly? Preferably uncapped commissions
