I would say make sure the tummy is full. That’s usually why they are waking up.
I was told it eventually gets longer just be patient. I have a 19 month old and we’re transitioning to 1 nap as well. She’s been always sleeping in a blacked out room, sleep sack and white noise. Her noise starts at 12 and we have it on till she wakes up. Depending on the day shes up between 1:40-2:30

You have no control in this situation. Thoughts and prayers.
Push that nap to 1:30.
Coach
Try pushing the nap start a little - 12:30 or 1 - and see what happens to the 5:30. A slightly longer and/or later nap should get you to a good bedtime eventually!

Move the nap back in 10 minute intervals
So this was us! 20 month old would like only sleep 1.5 hours. Then miraculously this week every nap has been over two hours. I don’t know if it’s a fluke but I’m wondering if it just took her a long time ti transition (two months). I was resigned to her only sleeping for 90 minutes!

At that age total daily sleep should be 11-14 hours. My boys just got their one afternoon nap and it was 1.5-2 hours as well, but they'd sleep 8pm-7am overnight so they were just loading all their sleep into night time like adults do. If the total sleep is OK, you may be fine and just need to tweak things so 5pm isn't permanent bed time.
