I mentioned during the interview process that I had a young daughter and the conversation immediately went to “you saw this position requires 25% travel, right?” I should’ve never said anything. 😔
I'm totally confused how Marriott could be charging $1700 for a hotel this week when others in the area are only $300-500 for M-Th ... aqa
Seattle Delta sky club FTW.
Does Big4 hire ACCA individuals from international countries (they will not need visa sponsorship and would be legally authorized to work in USA).
For those, who are immigrants, what made you stay in New York? Would be especially interested to hear from those who didn’t come for economical reasons. I am told the excitement about the city wears off 😅 I am European, just came 2 years ago and am still loving it, but also start to wonder if staying in a job I don’t like it’s all worth it (I am on L1 visa, so no way to find a new job). Life in Europe isn’t too bad either.
Do any of the top consulting firms have analytics roles (preferably not super technical) that don’t require weekly travel?
Can someone just build a deck already on CSR cost benefit and post to some burner google drive account
Friend received I797B instead of I797A for his H1B approval. The immigration lawyer is recommending him to leave US and get his visa stamped. Any option for addressing this from within US?
Anyone already work out an optimal combo for a couple that each consults on earning? We aren’t super advanced so basic choice is either both go Marriott, or split and one go Hyatt and Hilton
Booked some Marriott stays on points before the change in redemption rates. It’s now fewer points for the same dates. Is it possible to get the difference back? If so how, call or cancel/rebook
What is the best credit card to get as a new associate with no credit or past credit card?
Just lost my job. My wife is on OPT. Does anyone know how I can witch to her visa category? Any help is much appreciated!!!
CSR now gives 10x for booking through the portal for hotels, but I’ve heard we won’t get Bonvoy points if we book through portal because it’s booked through 3rd party? Is that true? What about nights towards status?
Giving 2 weeks notice today - yay! Now what do I do wth all my Amex points so I don't lose them when I leave the firm? Does anyone know the best solution that avoids transferring them to one airline?
I have been United GS for several years, just requalified. I’ve usually made SPG platinum on stays, never really had Marriott status, but since the merger I linked the two accounts and so have been
Can you have both the CSR and the freedom flex?
When you are in the US and your spouse is abroad, how do you file I-145 together? (AOS vs. Consular processing) Spouse is not able to get dependent visa due to consulate closures but PD might come before that could happen. Will be reaching out to lawyers too, but wanted to check if anyone had done this before, thanks!
Anyone work at CFPB Enforcement? Any insight into work life balance, culture, supervisors etc? Consumer Financial Protection Bureau
Hey all, would love some advice. I’m a Business Analyst with 5 YOE and minimal technical skills. And I’m really unhappy where I’m at. Very underpaid, and feel like I’m limited in job opportunities. I want to become more technical but no idea where to even start! I was thinking about starting with a certification but most seems really tough to learn as a newbie. Any guidance/advice on which certs to look at? Was thinking AWS cloud practitioner as a starting point? Any help welcomed!!
Hi fishes, I'm currently at Google and considering an offer from Citadel for a lot more TC. However, I like my WLB at Google. My manager is very hands off and I can frequently enjoy a long weekend or afternoon without clocking vacation time. Do you know how it is at Citadel? My current TC is $250k and the Citadel offer is for $400k.
Atlanta 🐟: Anyone investing in multi-family real estate here? Any tips for finding opportunities besides LoopNet or other lessons learned?
We know all the married people on here gettin’ laid because WFH... or at least they were before someone got on someone’s last nerve. Shout out to the singles who were mid drought pre quarantine...
The departure of several key team members with no thought given to replacing them, resulting in an overload of work for inadequate compensation, only serves to undermine my morale. Top management should have awarded bonuses to those who make an effort to honor the firm's commitment to clients to show that it is making an effort to promote a healthy workplace. How do i approach these matters to the partners knowing that they don't honor their promises?
Thinking about going to see a mental health and wellness coach or medical professional. COVID is getting to me, is this a bad thing? I feel weak asking for help, but think I may need it.
I am looking for moving forward in my career. My background is as follows: - bachelors in environmental health and safety engineering (EHS) - masters in safety sciences 6.5 years work experience - worked in distribution in EHS for a year - worked in EHS Consulting for 3 years - currently working in insurance consulting in risk management Want to get opinions on next move. Living in TX now. Insurance pays alright but my last raise was less than inflation rate and salary growth is low.
I was laid off from a resource management role, working with employees approaching or on the bench, working with managers to staff projects, and support functions like report creation, scheduling, etc. Roles like this are few and many large consulting firms have frozen internal hiring. Do you think it would be beneficial to get a SHRM cert? Would that help get a "talent related" HR role? Worth the money? I have a background in recruitment as well.
How soon should I start working with a recruiter to lateral? I want to stay at my current firm through December to get my bonus. Is reaching out to recruiters now a waste of time?
FP&A or Corp Dev as exit opp?
Do you feel like you have to trade between good culture and comp, or do they typically go together in your experience?

Rumors that were switching from salary model to hourly model, only get paid for hours you sync against chargeable WBS codes, a few questions on how this would work:
I interviewed for an internship at an agency I wasn’t super excited about, but wanted to get some interview practice in. When I met the ACD who interviewed me, we really hit it off and it made me (..)
Plot twist in the Bezos story: he’s hiring some truly unsavory people to represent him, per NY Times. (I’m a little obsessed by the story.) Cont’d...
