Does B4 still pay out your 2 week notice if you’re told not to come back for the 2 weeks? I’m giving my notice but have a week of paid personal days and a week of training for the 2 weeks of notice
I teach in a high school that doesn’t tell us what we are teaching until a couple of weeks before school starts ( not talking about schedule, I mean the actual classes). We start in three weeks. I would spend an hour or two each day beginning August 1st getting things organized, revising, and adding to my lessons. My teacher friends from other districts seem surprised that we are not informed yet. My previous school told us in May. How many of you don’t know what classes you are teaching yet?
Are there any meaningful certifications or learning modules I can do while on the bench? Been on here a week and need to charge a code other than G&A or else 💀
Flight Monday morning got cancelled and next available flight won’t arrive in time for a client meeting. Can not reschedule mtg. What would you do? If I try to uber (cont)
Who has left their job as a consultant? What are you doing now? How did you get into that role?
How did you say no or scale back for extra firm building stuff? Between covid and pregnancy I just don’t have the energy right now but don’t wanna burn bridges
Is it possible for a US CPA to get a job in Southeast/East Asia (Korea, Japan, Malaysia, etc) with no prior work experience in those countries? I have B4 IM tax experience (all in the US). Possibly looking to live/work there for a few years to be closer to extended family.
My son is entering Kindergarten and his (great but hamstrung) public school can only offer 60-85 minutes per day for remote learning, 3 days per MONTH in-school. Just not feasible for a working mom in this industry. So I met some parents, we hired a private teacher, and I’m rolling with a 4-family homeschool pod. I’m keeping my kid in public school, hoping the curriculums can align and not go crazy. Love and strength to all moms and dads and partners out there. It’s tough - but so are we!
I'm falling apart mentally due to stress causing issues on my mental health, but I'm trying to stay strong because I desperately need a promotion.
Can anyone in Accenture recently promoted to manager let me know what the initial compensation is? I've heard it's 72K, plus 5.7K car allowance and minimum 10% bonus. Can anyone validate this?
How do you convince a client you add value?
What’s your take on lonely boys? Chatting with a dude—hot, fit, great job. But made multiple references to being lonely cause he’s living alone, cause his friends have left the city cause of COVID. Super open and vulnerable with me before even going on a first date. Not hating, just don’t know what to make of the situation.
Responded to medical rfe. It was from SC, not a local FO. Does it mean they won’t probably ask me to do an interview locally?
I just found out that the person I was with last year is with someone new. We were separated because of distance/covid. It just makes me sad because I feel that covid took away the opportunity for us to be together and further develop the connection that we had. It was unique and hard to find. So much has changed. I’ll get over it and if we aren’t going to be together then I am sure it’s for the best. Just feeling this heaviness today.
Looking for input on a career decision. Me: 9 YOE, homegrown manager who is currently doing a stop in industry. I have an offer to return to consulting (M&A). My end game is pure strategy. Do I take the offer or wait for the opportunity to interview for pure strategy? My take is it’s more difficult to lateral the more senior you are in your career.
What is the minimum type of exit offer would consider taking? (Company, Group, Salary, Position). Essentially what tips the balance towards leaving your current job?
I've been on the bench for two weeks waiting for a client to approve me and being paid to do nothing is actually just making me anxious 🙃
