Has anyone heard of people being negatively impacted if their team think they might be leaving? I’m interviewing elsewhere and haven’t told anyone at the firm, but I feel like my managers can feel me pulling away. I’m trying to stay focused on my team while I’m still here but I just don’t care about audit anymore.
When you accidentally turn on your Skype video while shirtless during a team meeting and it takes you a minute to realize it....🙄😖
I’ve always gotten the advice that when you want to switch jobs you should take interviews from places you’re not actually interested in, so you can understand your value in the market and have better negotiating power. I’m doing that rn - took a couple interviews to gauge my skills, my market value, and see what I need to work on for interviews that I actually care about. However, I feel really guilty about wasting their time and going all the way knowing I’ll just say no at the end. Wwyd?

Hi KPMG fish. How many interview rounds are there for an associate role with major projects advisory? Over the past two weeks I have done the phone screen, interview with 2 directors, and interview with 2 managers. How many rounds are left and what can I expect in the upcoming interview? KPMG
I’ll be doing my first deposition ever via Zoom in a month or two. Any tips? Resources to read? Videos to watch? (I’m a rising second year associate who got hired during the pandemic. I really want to impress my new bosses, so I’m going to put in tons of non-billable time prepping)
Need a sanity check. Had my mid-year. No negatives. It was 360 so I told my boss some things that were making me uncomfortable, e.g., changes in processes/micromanagement when compared to the previous, male directors and the fact that others noticed and had remarked about the differences. It was pretty tense. 1:1 today and boss brings it up. He acknowledges it’s different and says it’s bc I’m more experienced. I’m a great writer, knowledgeable, established in my industry, etc. WTF? Cont’d
Have a little over 5 YOE & several manager level roles with experience in change management, SaaS, technology implementations, Salesforce, healthcare. Making $135k now - what roles can I look for with this experience / a pay bump? Would love to move into health/life sciences tech (or any tech company) & looking into both FAANG-type roles and smaller startups. Any advice on specific companies / roles to look into?

Decided that I’m leaving audit today. Trying to understand the full range of opportunities in forensics. Will have my CPA and CFE. So far, I understand that there are client-serving firms like FTI and then the B4 will have forensics arms as well. What are some other forensic accounting roles? Pros and cons? Better than audit? Honestly just looking to learn anything.

I on L1 visa which is expiring on Dec 1. My wife is on L2 and currently pregnant and due on Dec 19. My company has filed for an extension in August for me and thinks that there will be no decision until early next year. If my visa extension gets denied before December 1, does it mean that we cannot deliver our child in US? What is the norms for losing health coverage - do I lose it immediately?
Only 6 weeks pregnant and I feel awful: exhausted, low grade nausea that doesn’t seem to subside, dizzy, lightheaded, and constant headaches. All I want to do is sleep. Preggie pop drops help only moderately. Husband is making me feel lazy for just wanting to lie in bed and nap. Do I just need to suck it up?
