I tell my students that my paras are teachers who will be working in the room with us and they have to follow that same rules for all of the adults in the room. If an adult asks them to do something, they need to do it. If it happens to be something I may feel differently on, I’ll wait a bit and then talk to my para privately. If it’s something that needs to be corrected with the student, I have my para do it since she/he was the one who dealt with the student first. I never tell the student something different from what the para said. I don’t want to undermine my paras authority
