If you're virtual, get a TPT bundle of Slides/PowerPoint to make lesson planning easier. Then look at subscriptions for websites such as Brain Pop, Reading A-Z, IXL, etc depending on your subject. If you're in person, look at TPT bundles in your subject as well as professionally made materials that will make planning and/or accommodations easier.

Lucky I would NEVER get that much to spend on anything! I’d like a document camera.

like

If in person, I would say Slint board, wobble stool or cushion, window readers, fidget items, or highlighters. If virtual, subscription to on line sights to support kids like pear deck or near pod.

Lobe options in NEARPOD. I also like those bands that go on the legs of desks for your kids who need to be moving constantly

like

Absolutely resistance bands. Absolutely STANDING DESKS. Probably a couple of exercise balls to replace regular chairs.

like

Fidget toys are great. You can always buy supplies for the class for the future (Lord willing this COVID goes away and we can go back to normal classroom functioning). Not sure if your district permits this but gift cards that can be sent to students for behavior mods, goal charts, etc. Students LOVE gift cards!!!

I would definitely get sensory items like body socks, pressure vests, weight vests, Velcro, masks lamination, handwriting without tears roll a dough letters and magnetic tablet with magnetic straight and curved line letter pieces, puzzles, bins for independent work, wiggle seats, lap weights.... I could go on!

like

Just be careful with weighted and pressure vests. That’s usually more of a PT given thing if needed.

like

Doc cam, better microphone, library of books, comfortable reading chair for classroom, and a couple wiggle chairs and resistance bands for the squirmy kids

like

Sorry decodable books, bean bags, and sensory materials!

like

I might buy headsets for my students, blue light blocking glasses for us all, and other tools I might use in the classroom for them to use at home - whiteboards and markers, behavior charts or reward charts, goodies for students to earn/a treasure box.

A color printer and ink.

We started state testing today with my kiddos taking their FSA Writing. It is the first time I have seen them in school as they are a digital class, and such an amazing experience to see them together as they talked amongst themselves before we went to the classroom to test. You can see how much they miss being together. ❤

Has anyone had the conversation on how we get Ss and Ts ready for returning in the fall? I’m not talking about mask usage, hand washing times, physical distancing in classrooms, etc. I don’t think we can expect Ts and Ss to come back and just hop right into academics. Need sometime to process together, get some SEL, be face to face social again, etc. Just wondering if districts out there have gotten a head start on this task.
