Good she is not attached - makes it easier to seize opportunities that come along.
As long as the moves are opportunities in line with her goals, and she’s not simply leaving to randomly try other shit, should be good.
When I interview folks and got a resume in my inbox, I’d normally go through skills and accomplishments. But frequent jump will definitely pops up in the back of my mind when I see a resume like that.
Some questions you’d need to prepare to answer are:
1. What have you accomplished in your previous firm with a short stay? Given that you are in your 3rd year, and you just stayed about a year, I’d hesitate to take you as a senior as you may not have done much.
2. Why have you move around often? Are you being pushed out or jumped? Remember that I don’t know you and haven’t talked to you, so I’d always prepare for the worst.
3. If you jump around practice as well, what are your breadmaker skills (if you have any)
I wouldn’t just reject your gf before talking to her but she’d need to show why she’s better than her counterpart more than someone who stayed in one firm for a longer period. If I have a choice between the two person, then I’d pick the one who stayed longer (given that both have the same skills)
She may not be wrong...
Is she hot?
@A2 She said benefit wise, definitely Deloitte. But people wise, EY.
At least she's stuck with you for the duration
She also states it’s easier to switch firms than switch practices within the firm. Which I’m like ehhh......
It’s gotta be the D. Everyone’s chasing Deloitte
OP - if she’s getting jobs pulling her away, it doesn’t sound like an issue 🤷🏼♂️
In general, it is easier to switch firms than switch groups within.
K1 - I just think going through 3 consulting firms within 3 years makes her look unreliable. But this could just be the shallow side of me.
Will certainly raise some red flags on her resume. Maybe she doesn't like consulting and should look into another field?
What “benefits” does Deloitte have that others don’t ?
I wouldn’t hire anyone that flighty
Live her live bruh
It’s definitely a red flag but she needs to have a good story to justify. I interviewed on guy who had done 14 months at EY, was interviewing after 14 months at Deloitte. His explanation was lacking.
@K1 But would recruiters accept that? Like “oh, it seems like you jump boat pretty frequently. Idk if we should use you.”
Used to be at D and they did have better benefits
Ohh I am in PI . Whats her speciality.. perhaps i can help. I am SM but new here.
Also EY helps to boomerang. You might just let her jump around and you can be her firm anchor :)
OP - if she keeps getting jobs it doesn’t seem to matter. Besides, no one on an engagement team will know or care, they will only care about how she is to work with and what she delivers
