2 Days before joining a new company, it is possible to negotiate the compensation again with a new offer? Or this is not possible?

Anything is possible but you won’t be making a lot of new friends. I personally wouldn’t do this, if the new offer is higher, take that.

No...

Its possible, all comes down to how much they like you. Odds are they don't like you THAT much

Not a smart move. If you like the other offer/comp...just take that offer and bail on the new company...

Don't do it

Absolutely not lol.

But If I decide not to join, then I will be burning the bridge with them right?

You're the manager, you tell us...

My firm was one of the firms that gave covid bonuses but did not specify whether everyone was getting it. I didn’t make my hours this year because I was on maternity leave and a bunch of my cases ended 1-2 months before I went out so I had lower hours before I started my leave. I couldn’t make up for those lost hours when I was back since I was working from home with an infant because of covid. I didn’t get the covid bonus, which in my mind is ironic considering the circumstances. (Cont.)

Would you take high risk / high reward consulting gig at a small firm? Comp is hourly and project based. Firm has a good foothold in the niche market. Offers lots of flexibility. My professional life at the moment is far from ideal. I’ve been on quarantine (long story, but a good one) for the last seven years. Royalties from my books don’t pay the bills. My entrepreneurial pursuits remain hampered. For the interim, I’ve been looking for a remote opportunity where I can leverage my skills in marketing, sales, social media, and elsewhere for a decent sum. I have a social media presence which, in recent years, reached millions. There has to be something exciting I can do.

Why do some companies ask for 8+ YoE + MBA for mid-management positions (Manager, Sr. manager, Associate, Sr. Associate). At 8 YoE the super talented people would probably be looking for director level roles. Wouldn’t it be better to get them at like 3-5YoE?
