I want to move across state and because of covid there's a lot of temporary-remote and partial-WfH jobs. So it seems like a good time to make the jump.

But I'm worried that small companies will still see an out-of-towner as a gamble, even if they're ok with remote work. How do I address this in my cover letter? How much info do I give about why I want to move there & why now?

(PS I'm new here and this seemed like the most relevant bowl, please let me know if I should put it somewhere else.)

I work remotely for a national firm and am licensed only in the state where I live/practice. I have no plans to move to another state. I’ve been thinking about getting admitted in one or two neighboring states. Do you think being admitted in multiple states makes a difference or would give any advantage in future job searches (I plan to stay remote for awhile)

I have an upcoming interview and want to be prepared to speak about salary. The position is flexible for remote or in office (when able). I do not live in the city where the office is located, but I would be willing and eager to move. How can I comment on salary expectations with a difference in CoL from remote to in office? Is it to give two different ranges based on if I would be in the office or not?

Have you seen any examples of companies adjusting their compensation strategy due to working remote esp with global moves? Using my situation to illustrate… I’m a SM in the US and work on a global team. I’m moving to Spain, where salaries are significantly lower (wayyy beyond a cost of living adjustment), like 50% less. I’ll still be doing the same work on the same team. I understand a cost of living adjustment, but valuing the work differently because of where I’m working from seems off.
