Anyone in LA and have any tips/insights on how to get connected here? I moved here last year so still pretty new and have had limited opportunities to connect with others due to covid. It seems in both my dating life (F dating M) and trying to make friends (any gender!) people are very flaky. I’m wondering if there are places, groups, or just general tips I might not know of where people are more open and interested in making real connections. Any advice is welcome!

I’ve been working 12 hours a day minimum since I was 11 years old .. so now 12 hour days feel like play for me. Also put me infront of a screen for 24 hours and I won’t move until I need to go to sleep . I have been like that since I was a kid so now it’s in my blood. I never felt I was working. I’m always curious and my mind goes 1000 miles an hour . What about you? Do you feel it’s work and CBF after 8 hours? Or you feel it’s your hood and you can’t have enough of it?

It is disheartening, almost depressing, to see how many friends - good, smart people - have quit/are leaving Deloitte because of the "pay em the bare minimum" attitude. Unfortunately we are headed down the path of "if you pay peanuts, you'll get monkeys". Isn't consulting about hiring, training, and retaining smart people? Good luck Deloitte.
