1. Consulting firms dominate the forensics space, not PA firms. If you want to focus on PA firms specifically, it has been my impression that EY is the most active in the sector (just based on anecdotal observation. No hard data)
2. CFE is the easiest to obtain for the rubber stamp. CFF will teach you the most if you’re trying to learn the fundamentals of forensics but it’s not valued any higher than other certifications so only worth it if you’re using it to learn the material. CAMS is specialized toward anti money laundering and I wouldn’t do it unless your job is asking you to because it’s really not useful in the other 90% of forensics work
Depends on office - more than 130.
To your 2nd question: CFE for forensic accounting engagements, CAMS for AML work. That said, CAMS does help if you are trying to get onto any regulatory engagements since it is more geared toward that space, whereas CFE is more typology-heavy.
I would add CFF is the gold star but it’s so much work that no one really has it unless you were grandfathered into the program when it started
Following for #1
For #2, CFE is much easier to get (I'm studying for it now) than the CFF. From my experience, there isn't much preference either way, in terms of forensic loss quantification. It might differ for fraud or AML.
