Also, sorry about your loss ❤️❤️. After my loss I was so eager to get my period and start trying again. It’s such a process. Hope you’re doing as well as you can be.
Thank you. That’s basically where I’m at myself eager for my period! Moving forward slowly
I have heard positive things from friends and my fertility practice recommended it. I was doing it before my first ivf cycle started and I ended up getting pregnant naturally a week before. Not sure if it had any influence but it helped me relax and made me feel like I was trying everything I could.
I find acupuncture very relaxing and have a good relationship with my acupuncturist. I get upset when doctors/specialists/nurses only have limited info, don’t care about whole body health, or are dismissive of my symptoms. My acupuncturist has been the one constant who always knows what’s going on with me and validates the pain and stress I go through. So it works for me in that sense.
That’s so good to hear. The definition of holistic care is to treat all of you and that’s what your acupuncturist is helping you with 🤍
Rising Star
I just started trying it in the time in between my egg retrieval and FET. So I don’t know yet if it will help! But I have found it relaxing.
Sorry for your loss! I started acupuncture about eight months into our TTC journey. After a month I was pregnant, but it ended in a missed MC/D&C then I started it back up three weeks after that, I was still spotting but it turned into full flow a few hours after my acupuncture session. I did acupuncture every week after that and conceived two weeks after my first period post-MC, currently 14w! Personally I think it worked well for me, it helped me relax and have out of body experiences. After the MC, the acupuncturist did some needles in my ear for hormones. At about month seven I also started drinking a lot less, switched to matcha from coffee, took more supplements, started therapy, meditated more.
Thank you for sharing your journey and congratulations 🤍
I'm a person who enjoys monthly massages. I decided to try acupuncture in between my ER and FET. My RE basically declined to say whether it's beneficial, but seems it's not harmful as long as you don't get stressed out going to the appointments. I quit acupuncture after three sessions because I didn't feel relaxed, just really bored lying there with the needles in me. My acupuncturist couldn't really articulate how/why the sessions were supposed to help with fertility. I stopped going, but my FET was successful.
I’ve only had 1 session so giving it some time. My naturopath doc said she adjusts it with my cycle and helps “wake up” my system. Give jt a try for a month or two.
I personally don't think it actually helps improve egg quality or anything related to retrieval. But I still feel it may help on the transfer component of a good embryo if implantation is the issue. In some weird way it gave me a bit more peace of mind and calmness - did it all the way until 3rd trimester with my baby. Starting it again to prep for transfer for #2
Thank you!
My OB recommended it for menstrual cramps and I was pretty desperate so I tried it (this is in 2019). I went weekly for months, nothing changed. Felt like it was a waste and stopped.
With that said, hey some women do swear by it!
