^well I rent the cheapest tiny apartment with roommate, always try to keep my meal <$10 if on my own dime, saving a lot and only go out very occasionally, walk 5 blocks to do my own laundry and Airbnb my room etc..

I'd say keep being cheap, but def enjoy your life. Imagine u were told u were dying tomorrow, and u had a few months. Do u want to look back and think good thing I took all those uber pools and shitty $5 foot longs. Try the nice restaurant, go explore a new city, buy some clothes that make u feel good. Budget and plan accordingly, but find the healthy balance. U work hard, no need to limit yourself so harshly

If you're happy, don't change anything. Think of the excess cash as getting you closer, sooner, to the point you don't have to work if you don't want to. Retire at 40 and enjoy life. It's a privilege most people don't have and will probably bring you more satisfaction than whatever possession or expensive meal you could be blowing your money on.

Has anyone else talked to a doctor about stress while trying to conceive? I’ve been having a really hard time wanting a baby for the way my husband and I have been arguing or talking to each other. I think we should go to counseling. I know I love him and I know he loves me- there’s just so much animosity so much anxiety around discussions. Do you think our anxiety or tension is because we have not been able to conceive?

It has been my wife’s dream to have a vacation home and we have never been able to afford one. I recently started looking as I have accepted a new job where I’ll 2X my TC. Since the last time I looked in the area Q4 20/ Q1 21, houses that were 250k-500k are now 700k-1.5M. Very down that I just can’t out pace these prices comp wise. How are people pulling off buying homes at these crazy prices. I just don’t see how it is possible. Am I missing something or is this 2008 all over?

What other type of accounting positions are out there besides becoming an accounting manager in industry and just doing monthly recons? I’m currently in accounting advisory and ready to move on from public accounting, but can’t think of what positions to aim for that still would offer a variety of topics to work on that are somewhat “exciting” and wouldn’t be stuck just doing month-end close in industry.
