If there’s a real CTA and way I can take action I’m all for it. If not then it’s just a gimmick stunt for the agency.
At ACD sorry, the kids in cages thing gets me really riled up.
I think we can all agree that that is bad.
I hope we could also agree that anything and everything that helps to rail against that is good.
I get that these things usually go up in NYC because of the foot traffic, and the cool factor, unfortunately. But NYC isn’t really the population that needs convincing. I’d be more impressed if these went up in red districts.
Nice to hear. It’s a good idea and I’d hate to see it wasted.
That 501c, RAICES, does amazing work and the agency who did this is lucky to work for them. If this gets more people to support them and donate, bless. https://www.raicestexas.org/about/
Even without a CTA this should make people think and feel. Stop looking at things from an industry perspective
True. It’s hard not to. If I saw this, I might just break down and cry. Maybe that’s all it needs to do: make us feel something.
It says RAICES on it so it’s actual client work, not just an agency stunt.
I’ve gotten so cynical that all I could think was they did this for next year’s Cannes entry
During the times you’ve laid out, this was already a major part of the news cycle. The reminder wasn’t needed .
The comments on this thread are fucking gross. Honestly. I'm glad someone is doing something to raise awareness for RAICES - there are three year olds who are in fucking cages or now in our underfunded foster system who might never see their parents again. But let's talk about how they're trying to win an award next summer.
I'm not sure I follow your comment.
Low hanging fruit. Plus it’s doing nothing to help solve the problem.
Don’t pick on the junior. They make a valid point. You know this is award bait. Any results quoted in a case film will be made up. And after award season do not expect to see anything from this agency for that client ever again
58 comments so far. It got us talking. It will get others talking too. This is hard to ignore.
I like it. It’s easy to get numb to what we see on the news so if this can provoke or make the issue more real for folks, why not? And as for timing, hindsight is 20/20 so yes perhaps there were ideal moments to launch this, but we have no idea when it briefed and PS kids are STILL in cages and they are only opening new immigrant concentration camps as we speak
Badgers & winters is a mad house with horrible leadership who don’t care about you as a human beings so it’s funny to see them do something like this....
Yup! Dehumanizing for sure
And hypocritical
Here’s the CTA:
You’re just as late to this thread as this activation was. 😂😂😂😂😂
can it be both award bait and good for the public or are we all too cynical to understand both things can be true.
I feel like all of us dog-piling and protecting our precious opinions is a way for us to conveniently avoid the moral issue here.
Kids in cages.
The only thing you can do is donate and protest. think what you want about the stunt or the agency. The only thing that really matters at the end of the day are the kids in cages.
That too, yes.
Simple & smart.
Wouldn’t this have been more timely and impactful had it launched closer to the time the Trump Administration enacted its "Zero Tolerance" immigration policy in May 2018?
Yeah, and why in NY near AdAge’s office? If they wanted to make a difference they’d pick red states. Their agenda is very obvious.
The creatives should live in cages until the caged kids are rejoined with their families.
Hell, a whole agency of people should live in cages until this sick, woefully unamerican practice is ended. Call it The Cagency.
This was WeWork’s new offshoot business WeBabysit
No. Don’t.
This has “forced awards brief” written all over it
They should take kids out of cages
Award bait
