How do I know I need to review a SOC report? If I’m relying on a report, yes I need to. But what about those applications that client uses as back-up center (AWS for instance). Do I still need to review SOC? What about applications used for record keeping but not processing of transactions (Quickbooks for instance)?
I am rolling off a project sooner than expected. Project wants me to go through the amendment but I don’t get the point but the time I know my result it will almost be time to roll off.

Joined a new consulting company and the first project I am assigned is not that exciting. Should I quit or request to change a project?
Considering boomeranging back into public tax. It’s been about 15 months and I’m really not feeling my current job. I miss working with more than 2 people and on more than one project. But then I think hey I left for a reason, right? Wondering whether people had a better experience after boomeranging due to the new perspective ?
Is there any status perks on Virgin America? New project location and literally it is the only nonstop from my city unless I want to get home at 1245am Friday Mornings...
The only lunch option at client site is (mediocre) sushi. I am slowly turning into a 🐟 myself.
I've been on the bench for two weeks waiting for a client to approve me and being paid to do nothing is actually just making me anxious 🙃

Aight fam. Spent last year on the PIP, almost got fired mid year, but worked on firm initiatives like a machine through the year, and killed it on client projects. Finally out of the PIP. Fuck yeah!!!
S2 about to be a S3 in a high COL city making 84k in FDD (top 10 firm) without CPA. Raises are being communicated this week... is it reasonable to counter offer if my raise is not where I want it to be and how could I approach this topic respectfully? I'm really hoping to be in the 94k+ range especially since I've been a key player in my groups biggest client for the last year. I'm considering quiting to pass my exams in the next few months if my raise is not where I want it to be...
Does anyone know any good tactics for a lead gen campaign? Client is mad that no leads have come through and Paid Search has been terrible
Looking for Tech roles in Denver, any recommendations? - 3 years consulting experience - Masters degree in Project Management
Searching for hobby suggestions/ideas. I’ve been struggling to focus lately and it’s been difficult for me to focus on my usual hobbies (reading, building an app side project etc). Ideally, looking for a hobby that can help with de-stressing and decompressing during my unwind time after logging off in the evenings; not something super strenuous. Thanks in advance!
How did you structure your resume? List each project with impact/value…or summarized? Any tips are appreciated

Is there any benefit to having chase sapphire preferred and Amex gold (already have preferred card)? The 4x dining for Amex is appealing, but they both seem like travel/airline cards
PSA: Many a traveler to Mexico contract giardiasis, which is also known as Montezuma's Revenge. Signs and symptoms of giardia infection may last two to six weeks, but in some people they last longer or recur. WTF, first COVID now this 😩 who knew there was a long haul version of this 😭
Hi Fishies! I have got a call for cloud engineer position in PWC. But i havent heard back from anyone for scheduling any interview. The HR had called me and asked me about my experience in cloud/DevOps, Current CTC, expectations, offered salary. But after that I havent got any call for interview. Does the process of scheduling an interview takes time here?

Anyone have any input on workplace culture and (I hate this phrase) “work life balance” at Seyfarth?
Do you guys factor in your public accounting internships when applying for jobs? For example job wants 4 years of experience. I just completed my third year as a full time associate
Does anyone have insight into WeWork or have experience working there? Talking with one of their teams right now. Certainly hesitant due to all the issues over past year plus the fact that COVID is hitting real estate but seems like it could be an opportunity to get in before they go public. Any thoughts or feedback would be appreciated!
Thoughts on 3-piece suits? I got one that I can wear without the vest so it's not a complete waste of money, but I'm trying to see when I can wear the whole thing (other than weddings I guess)
How long does it usually take to hear back after MBB final round? I think this was off cycle for experienced hires and it’s been 7 working days - should I keep waiting or move on? TIA!
For those of you that got coached-out/fired from PA, what was the conversation like leading up to it?
Am I missing something? I’ve picked up Four Roses bottlings at various price points ($30-$90) and I find it consistently burn-your-gag-reflex-and-choke unpleasant regardless of age. I swear it makes me cough every time I drink it, and I don’t find this in other bourbons from my stash (Blantons, Michters, Makers, Knob Creek, Bulliet). It’s not an ABV issue either as I’ve enjoyed many cask-strength bottles. What’s with the Four Roses love?
