I have been given a verbal offer of 145k base for a Sr. Associate role as Data Analytics Lead. The offer doesn’t come with any kind of bonuses or stocks.
I have a Masters and 5+ years of exp and my current comp is 115.5k + approx 5k bonus + ~20k in stocks (yearly refreshes) which makes my total current comp to 140k.
Is it worth taking the offer for increase in just the base?
What are my chances of negotiating into a VP level role with at-least 155k?

Hi all, recently in touch by Spotify recruiter for a Sec Engineer position for remote EU and was told that range was 60-80 out of base salary and equity. Had 2 years of security experience out of my 4 years. Was also told that there is no bonus scheme or no sign in bonus 😕 Not sure how I feel about this tbh.
What do you think?

Cognizant Recently cognizant have changed their internet wfh allowance policy.we use to get 1800 per month as internet allowance without submitting any bills or transaction details. Now they changed the policy as we need to apply for icici/axis/hdfc credit card from there we need to make the transaction and reimburse the same. I am ok with everything but why i need to apply for credit card? How a company can force me to have a credit card? It will directly/indirectly alter the credit score right? Cogniza

I left ZS on track to make $215K+ TC this year. New role in industry has a base of $150K + equity, with much better hours. Would make my decision again in a heartbeat, but only you can decide if the tradeoff is worth it
Oh and I was an SIP consultant
OP - if you like the work and ZS, you can easily manage to slow down a bit and not take on so much work. Your progression may slow by a year or two but you have better control over your hours, be happy and also do the work you are enjoying.
It’s not always an either or decision.
Also agree with SP1 - if you want to go to the industry for the experience and a period of balanced WL, go for it. You can plan your longer term career to come back into consulting. ZS or otherwise. It’s not a one time irreversible decision.
Zs3 and 5 Great points. Resonates with me so much
You don't get paid $180k in the industry on a 9 to 5 job. In most industries that salary is part of leadership compensation and they work extended hours and have key responsibilities. From what I have seen.
Where?

This thread is driving me crazy lol
I’ve spent 25 years moving between consulting and industry (pharma). There is no reason why you can’t move between the two. In fact, for those of us that do it, it’s helped boost our careers all around.
OP, feel free to DM me if interested! Happy to share more.
Any chance you have a burner, would love to chat with you
Same here. Also ZS. Feel like nothing I’m finding is even at 180
If you’re a partner at 35 making 1M then depending on personal fore goals you could retire 10-15 years early - seems worth it to me
*paid 🙂
Are you M?
Yep

Partner salaries become much much more than industry, not marginal. (CEO’s make a lot more but that’s 1 in …)
120k out of 540k 1M+ earners are from consulting, the rest are from industry. So nearly ~80% of the 1M+ earners are from industry.
That would indicate it's not bad to join industry, but then how many people are working in industry overall..? The rest of the entire working population.
OP you can be a partner at ZS much quicker than Big4. Stick around.
OP what is the rough Total Comp for managers at ZS?
Starts at 180-185k base + 10-20% bonus. Keep adding 10% every year on TC for ballpark estimate
ZS manager here. I think the best time to exit for industry is senior C or junior M. After a certain point, you find yourself invested in the P process and you need a salary cut to go to the industry. Also adding a few extra years to resume as manager doesn’t change the outcome.
Having said that, some exits are at the D level and they can pay over $200K. OP, have you looked at the mid size pharma firms?
Looked yea. Decided? No
