24 YO and currently down 70% in my net worth ( currently $10K) due to tanking tech stonks.
It’s making me stressed. Can anyone motivate me that it’s going to be ok

Index funds only going forward. Why people think they can pick stocks is beyond me.

Fees are only an issue if your are not seeing performance or personal value-add. —Vanguard “value of an advisor” white paper.

Motivation is you learned this lesson now vs later when your portfolio would be much larger. Don’t mess up again

Keep buying at a big discount, but most people dont beat the market long term picking individual stocks. Diversify.

You’ll be fine. DCA and chill.

I wager two cents that this is due to Schwab’s splitting their index ETFs at one point and Personal Capital not realizing that, hence the glitch.

Well can't blame you, last time this happened you were a kid. Don't be too hard on yourself now prepare for a recession

How much can you invest every month? DCA a fixed amount in the index funds. A combination of recovery and the extra investments will pull you out of the negative thoughts.

You didn't invest that money to take it out now. Ignore it

You’re only 24, chill. Good that you learned this at 24 and not 44. You can make that up in a few years and ride the next bull market to new highs. Remember what you learned, don’t be greedy, DCA into index funds.

I learned it at 44

You’ll be fine. I was down more than 50% earlier this year and finally back to even for the year

It's going to be OK, we've been through worse. Learn your risk tolerances and diversification based on that. You're probably fairly young and the market will recover in time. I expect up to 3 years of a range bound market, just my completely blind guess and what I am prepared for.

28 with about only 30k saved till now. Have worked 2.8 years and I feel I’m so behind. I’ve tried to save on everything possible but my family commitments make me feel I will never be able to retire - I make 95k a year and started at 82 base and 14k sign on in 2019. From 2019-2020 I had to help a family memes out of debt (approximately 30k). I started saving more aggressively in 2020 but then realized I’ll have to support my dad who’s business went under (1K every month-he’s in India so low
