I had a roommate at 24 who travelled all the time and I loved it. Was great having the place to myself a lot but paying less. I bet you can easily find someone who fits the bill and you can lower your cost.
I also just enjoyed a roommate in general. Nice to have social time when I wanted. I only had 1 roommate at a time.
thank you PM1! Super helpful

I'd caution against UWS if you're planning on doing a lot of travel. Getting to any of the airports will take longer. Living anywhere downtown will make Newark and JFK much more accessible
Curious - how did you become Manager at this young age? You work in Tech?
thank you!
Go downtown and get a roomie, it’ll also give you peace of mind that someone’s home when you’re gone! I live alone and didn’t realize how anxious I’d be about my apt when traveling during things like storms haha.
Also, worth saving the $ now and then getting a nicer place later. Plus as someone else mentioned downtown is better for transit to airports.
Depending on your budget if you want a lux building I’d look at Chelsea and TriBeCa moreso than WV or Soho, more likely to get a nicer place that isn’t insanely $$
If it helps, most of my runner friends love being downtown because the path along the water by battery park is super nice! And lots of cute guys 👀
i got spoiled in my last two cities with airports within like 20 min uber and now that I’m here it’s about an hour uber to all three (I live in EV) which it turns out is kinda hard to get used to after not having to factor it in 😅
