(24y) Started working at a startup company during my studies (MSc Bioprocess technology). Felt really good to gain real experience with my technical background while still in uni. Became part of management team while still doing courses at uni. I decided to do my MSc internship at the company as well to be able to be involved full time. However, I realize now to make this startup fly we really have to pull something off. Still have to do MSc thesis. Founder offers stock options. What should I do

When do you need to submit your thesis by? could not delay it and/or offer you some kind of part-time offer while you finish it up?

like

Ahh okay I understand. I don’t blame you - sounds like you have a full plate. If you have to wait to take something on until after you finish your thesis, I’m sure you will have plenty of opportunities at that point as well. Do whatever works best for you and good luck!

This is random but are you from the UK or Nigeria? Only people I've ever heard say "uni"

That's a tough decision. Will the university allow you to go back to complete the thesis later without any issue?

Stupid question. In the H&S salary report, are the splits by size of the fund based on the fund itself or the PE firm? For example, Blackstone has 800b+ aum but any specific fund within Blackstone manages something less like let’s say it’s a $30b fund or a new fund that’s only raised $2b so far? Would the salary report be based on the company level aum or the specific fund (even if it’s a brand new fund that hasn’t raised much within a larger firm)? My guess is the latter or somewhere between.

Hi guys, I’m debating switching careers. I’m currently a mortgage loan officer but I’m very interested in SE. My degree is in finance. There’s a coding bootcamp near me called Boca Code that’s supposed to be top notch. I’m curious for feedback on 1. Are coding bootcamps actually a way into the industry like they’re marketed? And 2. What is a realistic starting salary for entry level SE? I’ve read and been told 90k, but that seems high.

Happy Wednesday!!!!

I’m currently a Recruitment Consultant at an RPO with 4.5 YOE in Toronto. I received a salary raise last year. Recently I had another conversation with my manager for a comp raise. They was able to speak with their higher ups. Unfortunately, I got to know that they wouldn’t be able to increase my pay because of the economy. I’ve been working on heavy req loads and multi projects. But they are signing me up for a leadership program with a potential raise next year. Thoughts?

If I am not able to gain admission to Harvard Business School, but wanted a similar educational experience to become a consultant, should I attend Harvard Extension?

Just wanted to share this with people who would understand. Had 4 IEP meetings last week. When the case manager asked one mother if she had any concerns she said her only concern was that her kindergarten son with autism loved me so much she was afraid of him being promoted and being out of my room. I told her not to worry, in our program I will have him for 2 more years. Boy that made me feel good.

Q: for FAANG recruiters, do candidates get a reject stamp after failing even at the later stages?
I advanced to the last stage at
Facebook (Meta) around a year ago but failed on my last interview, a combination of not being familiar with the process and not having chemistry with the interviewer.
A friend who is a hiring manager recently recommended me and this time without even a HR call I received a straight up thanks but no thanks email.
Does this mean I’ve been permanently black listed?
