I just got an offer from EY in London but considering based on what the maternity policy is which doesn’t seem to be spelt out in contract or benefits pdf. Does anyone know a) if there’s a minimum employment period to qualify and b) what the enhanced maternity pay is. I’ve read both 16 weeks and 18 weeks.

Burp that baby! Make sure you’re giving the baby a lot of encouragement to burp after feedings. It took a while with both my kids for us to figure out when we had really gotten all the bubbles out, but once we had it down, crying went down drastically.
Burping and helping them with gas (bicycle kicks are great). In either direction, those bubbles are really uncomfortable for the baby.
Giving up dairy if nursing made a big difference for mine. Also if using bottles at all, anti colic bottles are 100% worth the cleaning headache. Then the one thing that I feel like doesn’t get talked about a lot with colic is being overtire or over stimulated. Be super strict with the 60-90 minute wake windows. My oldest got super stimulated by faces so we found just getting out of his face for a while (especially in the evenings) made for a calmer baby. We would set up the boppy lounger on the floor with nothing for him to really look at and it really got us through the evenings the first month or 2
Possibly silent reflux. My baby had this and reflux meds worked wonders
Baby screamed inconsolably for long period like 2 hours only in evening/ bed time. Baby no longer smiled during the day, had some hiccups/gasps that pediatrician thought indicated possible reflux. One dose of reflux medication and he was happy an hour later, all smiles and never a screaming episode ever again.
Could be breast milk.
As soon as I switched my baby to formula (I have to say, it was ridiculously expensive formula!), she forgot all about colic.

My friend had a similar issue with breastmilk, turned out baby had dairy allergies and when she eliminated dairy, he got much better.

We did the 5 S’s from happiest baby on the block (our ped was a big proponent). It worked really well for us!
It could be acid reflux, if it’s not during certain times, it’s not colic. We ended up having to give both our kids medicine for the acid reflux, because holding them up 45 mins-1 hour wasn’t working.

We used probiotic drops (Gerber) and they made a difference for us. Our son was on formula, if that makes a difference. But I was convinced his crying was gassiness and tummy troubles, and those colic drops, although expensive, made a difference. Not perfect, but definitely better.
Hang in there, mama. The period up until about 8 weeks is the worst! Crying tends to peak at week 6, then slowly get better.

We bought the drops at CVS or Walgreens. I was suspicious about buying them online from Amazon because they’re sensitive to heat.
When is the baby crying? Are they overtired? Read up on wake windows!
Looking back, symptoms like this were some of the earliest indicators of my baby’s dairy allergy. Cutting dairy made a huge difference for us. Most babies outgrow the intolerance so we’re getting ready to trial it with him over the next month or two.
