Congrats! I also got my first car at 26 and it was a 13year old Toyota! It was the perfect choice! Enjoy! Also watch some vidoes on youtube “poor people get bmw and millioners get toyota”😃😂

like

I don’t care what anyone says, Toyotas are great cars.

Agreed. Have survived off my SO who has a Model 3...switching between them can be jarring but we both agree the 16 year old Toyota still has a smoother & quieter ride

Come on man. What is your firm paying you?? Kidding but seriously splurge next time 🤷🏻‍♂️

like

D6, just because you don’t see the value in something doesn’t make it “crap”.

To some, a wristwatch is “crap” and they don’t pay more than $20 for it. For others, they see it as investment and pay $50k for it.

Some wouldn’t go near “crappy” art while others pay millions for it.

The resale value of some classic cars are worth more than your DC house (ironically, the cost of your single DC house is the same as my 3,000+ sqft house and 10 rental properties I fixed up & making passive income on).

Lastly, most male billionaires in the US have at least 1 exotic car (worth $1M+). You can’t tell me you’re more financially successful than they are.

If OP has a sentimental value to that specific vehicle, that’s awesome; sentimental values are priceless. But purely from a financial perspective, he could do better.

Also, if OP decides to side hustle, his image & competence is (usually) essential in sealing the deal. A rinky dinky car is unlikely to seal the deal with potential clients.

Just in case it got lost, congrats again OP. My first car was rinky dinky. 😅

Thankfully it's not a prius.

Guys, I am APHR certified and practiced Organization Development for several years and I still had problems getting a new job after migrating to the USA. I have been researching and learning and what I found out was to switch career minimum; needed is education (first not not certification to show you have practiced new skills). This will lead to new skill sets which will lead into more experience.

What route would you guys take in my position?

Goal: Data Science/ML

1. UGA MSBA (likely free)
2. OMSCS/OMSA (possibly work FT aswell)
3. Work FT and find out what I really want to do

Context: Going into final year of MIS degree with CS minor at UGA. Really enjoying classes on hard skills, haven’t taken all the business side classes but so far not as interesting. Interning at KPMG for data analytics rn, haven’t gotten much useful experience. Family may have financial hardship soon.

Hi fishes,

I have received my first offer letter which they wanted me to accept by e- signing it and after i did that theh have sent out form 11 and other documents to be filled in 2 days.
I have never filled form 11 and other personal details untill 1 week before my joining date.

My joining date would be after my notice period which is usually 2 months.
Should I share the person details and form 11 they asked for now itself?
Will it be a problem if i don't wish to join the company later

Recalling my first onboarding meeting in-house with the c - suite. Thinking back now recalling that they would often mention if someone they are referring to is a woman. For example, "Oh we have these two women doing x, y, and z and they do it well, a well-oiled machine." etc. I was the only woman in the room. They did not mention when someone performing a particular role was a man but they did point out when it's a woman, happened about four times. Odd, no? What would you make of this?
