26/m - I have about 8k in an old 401k from my previous company. Should I roll all my retirement earnings into one big bucket? Is it a big deal if I just leave it there? What would you do?

Roll it over. Usually a vanguard / fidelity fund has lower fees, and it's also easier to have fewer accounts to deal with

Besides, you won't get any matching contribution from your old employer. Better to consolidate into one and get the matching contribution from your current employer. Easier to track. Simple!

If your salary will be over the Roth IRA threshold (120k) in a few years I would not roll over to an IRA so you can preserve the ability to do backdoor Roths

I’ve seen a couple posts lately with comments saying that people should not use a Roth 401k. Does the logic below capture the spirit of that concept?
1. Use trad. 401k to reduce taxable income now. Convert to trad. IRA once retired, then convert gradually to Roth IRA (ladder, SEPP, etc.) at lowest marginal tax rate
2. Use Roth IRA (and/or backdoor Roth) to take advantage of tax free growth and ability to withdraw principal early without penalty

Currently I work for a mid-sized InsureTech that’s had 2 rounds of layoffs in the past 6 months. Salary is 100k, with no defined bonus. I have close to 4 years of PO experience. I am debating whether I want to leave since my boss is very chill and I have amazing WLB. Benefits are eh. 15 PTO days and healthcare premiums are okay. Should I jump ship? What could I be making at a bigger company? What types of companies are most stable right now?

Just curious what the salary ranges are for Benefits Managers within this group. Trying to determine where I currently align. I have 16 years of experience with 6 being in the role of a Benefits Manager. I have continously grown within my career and taken on more responsibilities and added new skills. I have both my PHR and SHRM-CP and working on my Cebs certification. Current salary is $80k.
