28 years old, have about $200K in cash and stocks, excluding 401(k). How would you allocate the $200K between cash / stocks / bonds? Crypto is the wrong answer.

I keep a 6 month cash reserve at all times, so Ill figure out my avg $ per month needed and just always have that on hand, rest is stocks/investments. Mostly VOO/VUG, but I got in early on AMD and a few others. So far I’ve been getting really great returns over the past ~7 years.

But yeah TL;DR 6 mos cash reserve, rest in stonks.

lol wtf? stock splits don’t create dilution. stick to your day job

6 months of expenses in cash reserves (so maybe 10-15k?)

Everything else should be in investments. At your age, it should be roughly 15% bonds and 85% stocks.

Vanguard has a series of mutual funds that have a target retirement year associated with them - essentially, if you plan on retiring in 2040, you should invest in the 2040 retirement target fund. This will help with your mix without a lot of effort.

You should consider a different living arrangement depending on your long term priorities. No matter what city you're in, if you're young and single this is a lot more than you need to spend if you want to save

10% cash, 90% broad market index funds. VTI and chill.

I have 400k in stocks and only 20k cash. Don’t plan on ever having more cash than that tbh. I also own a condo I put 10% down on so have a little diversification but not much

90% stocks, 5% crypto, 5% cash

A man of culture

6 months cash reserves. Then be a little lower risk in anything you'll need in the next year or two, so maybe 60 percent stocks on that... less if it is a real urgent need, more if it's a 'want'. 90+ percent stocks on anything you have no specific plan for.

Noice position to be in for one. VTI and chill easy answer as per BAH1. Riskier answer 50% TQQQ, 30% VTI, 20% cypto? Personally UK based and I'd do, 50% Fundsmith, 30% QQQ3, 20% across ETH, Mana, TRX on the off chance one of them explode

you probably have another decade before you really need to shift into a more conservative strategy. equities are still the place to be. no bonds. and no, crypto is not a wrong answer unless you throw 200k into sht coins

DSIP or Ave Maria funds. 90%. 10% short term bond/cash equivalent like PIMCO SAFE.

Anything else is a terrible answer given the historicals on these two.

@C2, that's not alpha-energy bro

I'd go 30% DOGE, 30% ETH, 40% BTC

10k I-Bonds, 10K municipal tax free bonds, 150 mutual funds/etfs, 30k equities or crypto

50% BTC, 20% ETH, 20% L1s (AVAX, NEAR, ETC), 10% DEFI

for Defi, I would focus on bridges I think that is going to be a very good R/R place with the number of L1s in the space currently

80% equities / 20% cash

Keep 50k in cash
Invest 50k into a rental property
Buy 15k or FB
15k of Tesla
20k of Apple
10K in Citigroup
40k in mutual funds

Have any of you started a PLLC for a solo practice? If so, what was the process for getting your firm to become a PLLC in Illinois. Did you file for an llc first then file a cert with the Supreme Court. PLLC filings for IL do not list attorneys as a professional group.

I have 2 toddlers who are both in daycare & I am 7mos pregnant. Obviously, my toddlers aren’t vaccinated and neither are any of their friends at school. I am vaccinated, but have caught covid twice - the first time hospitalized me and was very very scary. I hosted my husbands anti-vax family for Christmas and caught it again then. My husband invited them to visit in the next few weeks after I said I was done hosting anti-vax ppl until after the baby comes. Is this the hill I should die on?

I truly respect & admire lawyer moms. I see (and read here) how difficult it can be sometimes, especially when your kids are younger. I anticipate my bf and I will be engaged soon so I can’t help but think about the “usual” next step- kids. He always says that’s my decision to make and I love him for not pressuring me, but the deeper I get in my career, the more I second-guess having kids of my own. We absolutely want to adopt but idk if having 1+ of our own is what I want anymore. (Cont.)
