I’d say wait a year or two, get closer to average age with more exp. Went to T10 and the only person i know with 3 YOE went to Ivy undergrad and had a unique story.

No need to rush b school

As a general guideline, your good shot or likely schools are non HS where your stats are at the 80th percentile or above, provided you put modest effort into apps and have cogent essays.

Schools will also look at things not captured in your q like impact/progression in job, LOR, EC involvement, etc.

I leave out HS because no matter who someone is, it’s still very much a toss up—while stats matter, neither school needs to obsess over their stats or rankings for the general population.

What should I do? I have an offer with 185 base,8% 401k and 10k sign on. MS reached out for tech role but I need to have full scope. I have ci poly now and I get nervous when I go on it. MS rep did say if I fail they will try to place me elsewhere but that may just be hr talk.

Should I try to sign the 185 offer and try to see if I even get offer with MS and let the poly play out or should I just not worry about it and sign the current offer? I am pretty sure the compensation from MS is great.

I so badly wanted to get offer letter and resign from my company.

Now I have OL and serving notice, still I’m not happy and want to go for higher package and better offer.

Also it’s easy to see people earning double with same YOE. Do you guys feel the same?

Do people tend to age out of wanting to FIRE?

In your 20s-30s, you don’t know much, you’re told what to do, you have few financial resources so you are tied to your job. Under these circumstances it makes perfect sense why you would want to FIRE asap.

But eventually you advance up the ladder, you are now the boss and your people do all the grunt work. You also have built up expertise which makes the job easier. And you are making the best money of your life. FIRE is no longer so pressing.
