3.5 GPA from a third tier state school, asian female, 760 gmat. Is it even worth shooting for M7? No spectacular story either 🙃

Everyone has a spectacular story somewhere in them. Not everyone is self-aware enough to know what it is.

Figure it out with friends and tell it to the best of your abilities in the application! Go for it, and good luck!

In all seriousness however, I remember reading about this big shot real estate investor/developer. He said people often ask if they should get into real estate to which he always replies "no". When asked why he would say that to people his reply was: "successful people will be successful regardless of what I tell them".
It's your life to create, OP. 👍🏼

You're right, OP, "why even bother, you don't have a chance, no McFly ever amounted to anything in the history of Hill Valley" after all. 🤷🏼‍♂️

Is there any particular reason you are only looking at M7 schools? I'd say you have a fair shot, just gotta bank on personality and culture fit once you get your interview. There are plenty of great schools within top 20 range. Consider applying through Forte or Consortium as well.

Just trying to walk in with my eyes open--over represented minority, decent gmat, low GPA, and a not great state school. It'd be sick to go to HBS or Sloan but it also seems like a huuuge reach

What was your major? 3.5 in biochemistry or engineering is stellar.

Consider working with an admissions consultant to craft a good story? That's what I'm thinking about doing

Mck1 Highly presumptuous to actually believe that adcoms have the ultimate ability to assess that someone's story is spectacular.
I agree that everyone has a great story, but not necessarily one that will get them in, because let's be honest MBA admissions are highly subjective and right-place right-time based

I wouldn't write your self off OP. Have a great application package and you'd surely land a few interviews.

Always worth trying.

I want to brag on my kid, but I don’t want to embarrass him, so I’m doing it here. My college sophomore found out today that he ended up with a B in his accounting class - which is remarkable, given that he received a 50 on his first exam and a 70 on his second. I’m not sure I’ve ever seen him work this hard - and I couldn’t be more proud. The grades that come easily don’t impress me nearly as much as the ones that are hard fought.

So I had a first interview this past Friday at a company that I had previously interviewed with and made it to the final round last month. They decided to go with an internal candidate after it came down to me and him. The current role is more senior, and was one I was asked to apply for by the hiring manager, whom I also met with during the last set of interviews. I emailed the recruiter to f/u on Friday and still have not gotten a reply. Should I be concerned?

What are the best consulting firms to work at if I want to exit to Big tech in few years (after reaching manager)?

First they came for the seditionists, and I did not speak out -
Because I was not a seditionist

Then they came for the gun extremists, and I did not speak out -
Because I was not a gun extremist

Then they came for the cartoon's reproductive organs, and I did not speak out -
Because I was not a pervert

Then they came for the burger lovers - and there was no one left to speak for me

I've changed jobs every year for the past 5 years, within the same field; I haven't worked at a place I would consider spending a long time at. I've never been fired or even written up, but the job changes are reflecting as negative when looking for a new job. Any suggestions to get perspective employers to give me a chance?

Do you all think I should put open rates and CTRs on my resume for email marketing? I'm a copywriter (obvs) and trying to show results.

And what would be rates worth bragging about? (I have looked up the average rates but not sure if I should include analytics if it's just above average. Like say 35% for open rates and 4% for CTR.)
