Consulting Exit Opportunities

3.5 years in EY tech consulting out of UG. Would like to know if a Top10 MBA would add exponentially more value to my career? Currently B.S from a top public and realize lots of exit opps prefer MBA

What’s the total cost of going to school full time? What is the salary that you’re currently making and how long would it take to earn that income back? Once you earn that income back how much more would you be making in your career?

I think, since your background is deep in technical consulting, adding an MBA would market that you have added a higher level, strategic mind to your deep understanding of a business’s operations/technology. That can sell for a strong resume in my opinion.

Thanks C1, this is exactly my thoughts. I came from technical background and have been able to move towards strategy work from implementation/dev, and I thought MBA would reinforce my business skills better for higher management roles exit

You have almost 4 years of experience at big 4 why would anyone care if you went to grad school? I never understood this

Yeah 4 yrs at Big4 is pretty good but my impression is a top MBA could push me higher into management later on. I just don’t know if an MBA would differentiate much at that level

Got laid off a month ago after 1.5 years despite great snapshots and utilization. Was just offered a consulting position at a much smaller local firm for $5,000 less than what I was making before

I'm going through a layoff at my job. I was a programmer many years ago and have gradually moved to a Project Management role over the years. I don't really like that kind of work and see an opportunity here to reskill a bit. What are thoughts on microdegrees or certificates from the like of Coursera? I have good tech acumen, just wondering if someone would hire in the area of Data Science with one of these degrees. For info: 40s, 20+ years experience, and BBA in Computer Info Systems.

Can someone explain the difference between FB’s Partner Solutions Manager and the Strategic Partner Manager? From an initial recruiter call, it seems the SPM provides the consultative product recs while the PSM onboards the client onto that product and tracks performance to provide actionable recs as needed. Anyone know career growth and salary for these two? I don’t want a sales heavy/only lateral growth role like their client solutions manager roles so these seem like good compromises?
