How do I improve my confidence? I’m in a wonderful long-term relationship and they travel weekly, this week in particular has been really hard and I’m feeling really alone. For the first time in my life I’m noticing physical symptoms from my distress/loneliness (panic attacks, exhaustion, SOB, etc.) No desire to hang out with my many friends here and no motivation to do anything really. The thought of calling anyone feels like a heavy burden. I cry easily and often. Has anyone experienced this?

Call them and ask them if they will credit you the additional days, since 72 is quite a few, you travel regularly as a consultant, SPG only requires 50 nights, etc. If you strike out, then find a cheapo Marriott property and spend the $ if sufficiently important to you.
Check the Marriott reward program website. Do a simple cost analysis. This is not complicated
Happened to me last year, called and they gave me platinum!
Find the cheapest Marriott property within 30 minutes of you. Book for 3 nights on points or cash and then check in, make the room look lived in and leave.
Also, if you don't get it, ask to take the Platinum Challenge next year. If you have 11 stays (not nights) during a 3 month period, you make platinum.
Depends whether you want rollover. You can renew for 2018 with a 22 night head start or take plat for 2017.

By the way you still can elite nights if you stay with points so you potentially don't even have to spend dollars
