Was looking to head west back in March (before the internships disappeared). Now my gf and I want to start the new year in a new city. Any places hiring junior writers and/or art directors (she’s an AD)?
I feel like there is an easier way to do this on line learning. Same grade teachers at the same school should be one big group. For example: One teacher has the discussion or lecture and does the presentation to all classrooms. One teacher mans the computer to answer questions that come in and handles any tech issues. Another teacher grades assignment and takes role and handles the admin part. Wouldn’t this be easier? Teachers could rotate or just stay in one role.
Where did you go after EY-P if you were in TSE or CGS after leaving as a Consultant or Director. How much are you making now and what position/company etc? Trying to look at exit ops and could use some reference points please and thank you.
Tough spot where I am grateful I got a role that I know a lot of people would want but am wondering if i could do any better if that makes sense.
I currently work at a firm that pays above market. 12 YOE, people transformation ( culture, not ERP/tech implementation) background. Current total comp is about $140-150k, plus $20k unvested equity. Is this a reasonable salary expectation for my next role: $165-$180 total comp annually, something like: $150k base, 25% bonus, + $30k equity, $25k cash sign on to replace what I’m walking away from in outstanding equity and expected bonus payout for 2021. Does a Consultant at EY-Parthenon manage junior resources, or are they usually the least tenured on teams? Curious as to the expectations of the role thanks!
Has anyone interviewed with Microsoft for a Program Manager II role lately? If so any tips or advice, I have mine coming up this week!
Anyone interviewed at Facebook for any Analytics role or position? Any insight on technical/analytical interviews or in general any advice on how to prep for the interviews? Any help is welcomed
If you're in EY FSO advisory, do you have to be based out of NYC? Very interested in a position but don't want to be stuck in New York forever
Do you all separate positions within a firm on your resume? Is it okay to just lump everything together and only put your current position?
Would love to speak with anyone who made an exit from consulting shortly after reaching M. How did you think about the following? 1. What functional roles will you actually be good fit for? How does one really know? My resume of case work just confuses me tbh 2. What level should you / did you shoot for? Is AD a realistic goal? 3. What platform did you use to search for jobs? LinkedIn? 3. How did you shortlist your set of target companies? 4. How did you ultimately land the "right" job?
Is there ever a benefit to telling your RL that you don’t see yourself staying long term? At the SM level and I’m really just over it. Trying to figure out how some people have navigated getting referred to openings at clients. We’re short staffed so don’t foresee them turning around and letting me go just by virtue of expressing this isn’t my long term plan. However, can see how it may ding future ratings so probably best to keep my mouth shut
I’m a 2nd year analyst wanting to jump into Product Management. It seems most of the product management positions require a minimum of 3+ YOE in a “similar role.” Has anyone had experience leaving consulting for a product management role? Welcoming other tips and advice too.
For those who exit to industry, do you find recruiters lowball? They often quote a salary based on YOE and their standard pay - often lower because their salary progression is slower. 4YOE at consulting you make $120k~$150k but they quote $100k because that’s how they pay their homegrown analysts. Nobody thus far thinks 4y at consulting is worth 5-6 YOE, I’ve even met someone who only match me to their 2-3 YOE analyst because they think their program is more prestigious and want to hold me back.
Just moved in-house & am hiring a designer - NO clue what salary to propose for this role. Full benefits, mid-level, Chicago-based, mostly designing internal materials (town halls, etc.). Help?
Anyone hiring in Dallas or Houston?
Is it viewed as “not good” to go back to my alma mater for MBA? It’s a top 40 business school and got me into B4 consulting easily. School has strong recruiting presence in the region I want and I have a full ride for their FT program. Appreciate any thoughts!
If a company reached out to set up a phone interview and you replied with times you were available, would you follow up with them if it's been 1.5 work days since you emailed them and they haven't set anything up?
So I just got to my 3rd round interview, now meeting with whole accounting team individually through Zoom, is this a good sign and is there anything I need to be aware of?
Are thank you notes or emails after an interview still recommended? Or, would they just annoy the interviewer?
M2 here working in cloud space. Would an exit to AWS as a Sr solutions Architect be an upgrade or downgrade from my current position? What’s your take. I don’t see SM happening at-least for the next 2 years
Amazon Senior Program Manager (non-technical) compensation... Could y’all helpful 🐠 help me understand the range for the following: base, bonus, equity. Levels.fyi says for a Senior Product Manager (close enough maybe?) $141k base, $66k annual stock, $18k bonus. Sound accurate?
How do you do the min amount of work while looking for new jobs? I mean, by nature, I am a mediocre worker but I hate it when ppl judge or look down on me (people pleaser). Therefore, I do a good enough job and it doesn’t raise eyebrows. This balance is really affecting my health 😂😢. First world problems are the WORST.
I thought ad people were terrible, and then they added everyone to the broader Work/Life with Coronavirus bowl where all the bankers and consultants get to show how it’s REALLY done
Currently on STD leave for mental health. Been going through sessions with a psychiatrist and a counselor. On lexapro and hydroxyzine for anxiety and depression. Still can’t get over the fear of going back to working like a dog with no sort of peace. Through the sessions we have established the fact that consulting or B4 is very toxic for my sanity and quitting the job is what I need. What are the repercussions of putting 2 weeks notice, once I am back to work FT? Can STD leave be cancelled?
What’s the “last straw” that prompted you to start looking for other jobs? I’ll start - I put in my vacation for this entire week, more than a month ago. It was on the team calendar and people were made aware. Friday of last week, my manager says “hey I’m taking 3 weeks off so I’ll need you to cover for me next week. Youre the only one that knows this platform. You’re working right?”
Creative interview. Bring resume?
My mom died 6 years ago. For some reason this is the hardest Mother’s Day. Previous years didn’t really affect me as much.
What are the pros and cons of going from a boutique firm to B4? Currently, making $130TC in Oracle ERP/EPM consultant role and only second year in my job.
