Why are you even looking if you are making 120k three years out of school?

like

Yes. If you’re this young except it and prioritize experience though

like

Yeah same situation when you’re 3 years out of MBA pulling in 225-250 all in. You need to realize that recruiters will reach out for anything. Unfortunately only a few will be worthwhile to consider from a compensation perspective

like

Wtf 3 years out of undergrad and you’re a senior consultant?

like

If you go into a bank, you will easily make that 120k salary, once a bonus is also considered

like

I’m guessing you’re in SF or NYC to be making this much?

A1, wanted to get some additional experience before I apply back to grad school

120k shouldn’t be that unexpected for 3 years out of undergrad. Sure a bit in the high end but definitely doable. IBM CBD promotes into the entry level 6 figures after 2 years. Around 104-106k mark. Also IBM Senior Consultants are equivalent to Deloitte Consultants, KPMG SAs, PWC experienced associates, and EY Seniors I believe.

Accenture pays consultants (2.5 yrs out of college) $106k so not too crazy

I have a doubt.. Would appreciate if someone can answer it.. Most of the product companies involves working in old technologies for most of the time. Especially in BFSI domain, but I ve seen on other products as well. But why do they pay better salaries than service based companies? Isn't technology a deciding factor in salary? Example, a person working in latest Azure cloud technology in infy probably earns lesser than the one working in some old/legacy applications in Oracle/any BFSI products

How long is too long before meeting an SO’s parents? We’ve been together a little over 2.5 years and I still haven’t met them. Part of it is because they’re in India and we’re in the US and covid travel bans won’t allow it, but they have suggested FaceTime and my SO refuses. I think he wants to make sure it goes well but given our trip was planned December 2020 and won’t happen anytime soon, shouldn’t I at least meet them virtually? Am I reading into it too much?

In my late 20's, but I've lived in my current city (nonUS) my whole life. I was really looking forward to moving to NYC and landed a job there earlier this year although I'm still WFH and not in the US yet. A recruiter reached out to me for a new role but it would be in my old city. I'd be pretty fine with both roles themselves. But the NYC one would pay about 140$ TC (not sure about bonus yet, this is a guess), and the non-NYC one would be maybe $25-30 more. Is the $ worth the city sacrifice?

Cross posting this but could use the female perspective — Got a really substantial (~40%) mid year raise after I brought in a basically unsolicited competing offer from one of our peers. My firm typically only adjusts salary on an annual basis in March, and I’m pretty worried I’ll see a smaller than normal annual raise this spring to “make up for” my out of sequence mid year raise. Any advice on advocating for myself to ensure that doesn’t happen?
