Add the small cap fund, should be around 20% allocation

Agreed with above. I have S&P500 fund 60%, small cap 20%, int’l 20% which is pretty aggressive but I’m young

A million ways to skin a cat. Your way certainly isn’t stupid. I’m 100% S&P500.

Neither of my parents have a 401k, investments, or savings. They have nothing. I want to help them retire at 65 which would be about 15 years away. I’m looking to put about $15k/ year until then into an account for them. A couple questions i have though: 1. What type of investment account would be best to maximize? 2. Once gifted to them, will they be taxed if they receive a certain amount? I have little to no knowledge in investing so I’m open to any other ideas and/or advice.

Early 20s. Have amassed around 100k in my 401k. I have been contributing pre tax and just recently this year did both pre tax 19,500 and 6k in my Roth IRA as well. Am I doing this correctly? Should I be contributing into the after tax bucket vs. pre tax going forward for next year?

Best consulting companies for Healthcare related projects ?

I have 2years left before I reach the rule of 85 and can fully retire. (In NE, your age plus years of service must equal 85 to qualify for early retirement). I will be 54 years old. Anyone out there who has retired from teaching at an early age also? I am looking for the pros and cons and things to consider when trying to decide if that move is best for me. I am a single mom, so do not have a dual income in my house. Thanks for any and all tips and advice you can give.

What % of your net pay do you invest? I max out my 401k, and I currently put $7k away (either in an ETF or in my bank account). I just bought a place and now I’ll only be able to put away $4k or so. I usually keep $5-6k from my paycheck and spend it on whatever, but I’m wondering if I should be putting a lot more away? I’m not trying to retire early and I like to live comfortably.

Currently mid twenties, and trying to take financing more seriously and would really appreciate some insight on how to allocate my income into savings! Make about roughly 70k a year (post-tax, no pre-tax contributions). I spent about $3,350 a month (~40k a year on rent, car loan, bills etc), so I have about roughly 30k to save annually. Obviously putting 6k into roth ira, and I need help with insight on how to allocate he remaining 24k between Roth 401k, emergency fund, personal saving, etc.

401k match question - what are the benefits for your firm? For Accenture we get 100% match up to 6% (total of 12%) after we are employed for at least 2 years. Just wondering how it’s like in other consulting firms.

Is saving over rated? Starting to think my general strategy/approach to savings. I recently posed a question about why people don’t retire earlier after seeing maxing out your tax accounts (~30K with match) gives you ~70k in today’s dollars (not 70k in 2060 dollars). I was a bit hyper obsessed about saving that extra 2-3k a year and saying no to that extra beach trip or mountain weekend or even a round of golf. Now I think I should be saying yes, what do you guys think? Just curious for thisconv
