30 years old, wanting to have kids but worried about fertility issues. I’m likely getting engaged soon, but I feel like when I do it will be too late to even find a venue before 2023 because everything post COVID is filling up so fast. I won’t even have any available vacation days until September 2022. I can’t seem to shake this feeling like I am racing the clock and I’m not going to be married for years. Anyone else? Any advice?

Eh i gave up having a wedding and just bought a house and had a baby. Do not regret as I’m 35 and I was so anxious about fertility issues too.

My fiancé and I are planing a courthouse wedding, with a tentative plan to have a bigger celebration in 2022. We are in our late 30s and decided that we won’t wait to start trying. You are still pretty young, maybe get a fertility test done to see where you are. Maybe you can afford to wait a couple more years.

Not me, but early 30’s here, and two of my best friends are in your situation. They bit the bullet and did lower key / small weddings (one other no wedding at all) because they wanted to have kids ASAP. All of them hated the days they were given, the fact that their wedding guests were required to distance with masks etc., but they are all pregnant now and super happy.

I am in a similar position (except I know of my fertility issues) and I think at some point you have to decide what is most important to you. Do you want to put off kids to have a wedding in a few years at a venue you want? Or do you want to do something different and get married more quickly to start trying for kids? I am personally going to have a very small intimate wedding within 6 months of getting engaged and have already scheduled first fertility consults to occur during the engagement.

I'm in my mid 30s and feel this. We are having a small wedding in early 2022 so we can get started right away.

A lot of people say they regret the money spent on their wedding, and wish they’d done it more low key. Something to consider. But also the advice to get your FSH tested before you worry too much is spot on. You have time! Consider a non-traditional venue.

Now that the CDC says no masks needed indoors if vaccinated, is anybody concerned what that means for kids under 12? I’m assuming that the honor system isn’t entirely going to work (I.e., some unvaccinated people will go maskless). I don’t want my 5 and 7 year olds around unvaccinated unmasked strangers, but it’s also a bummer to stop taking them places. Not that I was taking them that many places, but the occasional grocery store, shoe store, etc. seems riskier now.

Alright so there’s a thing called reclaim my status. If you had a reason why you lost status in the last year or two like COVID, baby, new job, etc. You need to submit some basic documentation and they give you that status for 3 months with a DRASTICALLY lower threshold to make the status permanent and even higher tiers are much easier to obtain during those 3 months. Google “reclaim my status Delta”

Debating on investing on our first rental property. We were initially thinking about a rental in our area code (northern virginia) but all ideas/threads on here seem to indicate renting a beach front property on airbnb would be a win-win. Get mortgage covered over the summer and use it as a vacation home during winter. Is it that straightforward, what are we missing? Any reasons why we should not invest in a beachfront and instead stick to original plan? Tia!

Got promoted to senior but did not get a raise to go with it. Firm keeping salaries flat this year due to COVID-19, but I was shocked when I found out promoted staff wouldn’t be getting a raise either. To me, this whole thing rings hollow because the firm has told us multiple times that they were projecting flat growth for the year when compared to last year (which was one of the best in firm history). So it pisses me off that they shot their mouth off about how great year last year was...cont

Does anybody do a “work uniform” in the office? I’m new in an in-house role at a company that has dress for your day (primarily jeans), and I’m thinking about doing that when we go back (1-2 days a week). I need to buy new clothes post-covid anyways. I’m thinking some casual, but quality, plain black dresses that I can wear a sweater, jacket, blazer (when necessary), shirt, etc. over. Could dress up or down with shoes. Thoughts?

I have received an offer for a 50% increase in TC to go into a Sales (Solutions Consultant) role. I don’t really want to leave consulting as I left sales 3 years ago to go back to consulting. However my wife and I are expecting and she will no longer work after we have our child. Applied for an SM position at pwc and interviewers mentioned that it is for an SM position as well. But the offer came out as M. Recruiter said it is just a title and doesn’t have any implications but more I look, it does look like an downgrade. Is this common? I am currently an SM and it is in tech consulting area.
