34 and 9 weeks pregnant. Still haven’t even told my mom as my husband is still not convinced we should ever be parents. He has a congenital condition and will likely need an organ transplant at 60 according to docs. So he wants to enjoy our lives and not be tied down. It makes sense. Unsure if I will ever regret this. It’s emotionally too much to handle.

Your message implies that you’re considering terminating the pregnancy to me. Is that right? If so, this is not the right bowl - people here are/have struggled to get pregnant. I hope you can find the counseling you need to work through this decision.

Well if I were being a little bit morbid…. Sounds like he may not make it that far past 60 or 70 anyway so you’ll probably be happy to have a kid to keep you company

smartlike

You’re in the fertility bowl so I’m assuming this was planned and maybe took some time? If so seems both of you were on the same page and wanted kids. Having kids is not the end of his life and he won’t be tied down forever. Might just be nerves as it’s so early in pregnancy. My husband didn’t even register/believe I was pregnant until second trimester and now he’s done a complete 180 (takes care of everything around the house, cooks, researches pregnancy tips and newborn tips, etc). Maybe your husband needs a bit more time to process

Also OP you’re experiencing a crazy surge of hormones so I just want you to be aware strong responses may be partially due to that as well rather than “yep this was 100% a mistake”

Were you and your husband previously agreeing that you want to have a child? Has something changed?

How long should I give new medication a chance to work and what should I feel? I was recently diagnosed. Initially, doc wanted to prescribe vyvanse, but we have to jump through hoops to get it, so we did concerta instead. I’ve been on it for five days, and I’ve felt extra anxious, sleepless, no focus, and irritable. How long do I keep at it before I could see a difference? And what should the meds make me feel? Thanks all.

I’m thinking of getting Citibike, but I have 2 dumb questions (yes there is such a thing): 1) how do bikes move with vehicle traffic here? I’ve never seen left turn lights or lanes for bikes, I remember those being helpful in my last city. Won’t I get hit by cars also turning left onto narrow roads? 2) I should probably wear a helmet. Lame right? But also don’t want to die? Didn’t wear one in my early 20s but now... ugh NYC seems so bike unfriendly.
