Hi Fishes, Can Anyone please tell, one of my friend joined Tech M in August, At the time of joining she was 3 months pregnant and now shes worrying about her manager. She wants to inform them about her pregnancy; is it right time to inform? Or she needs to wait for 6 more months for that to inform? Anyone please clearify.. I told myself when I got pregnant that I was going to power through to the end and never use pregnancy as an excuse to stop working. Ha. I made it to 37.5 weeks and then spent the last 3 weeks on the couch. Being pregnant is so hard and the last month is the worst! Do not feel bad taking the time off!
I stopped working 4 weeks before my due date because I am CA based so the Accenture CA folks will be familiar with state laws. Tbh, even if they think you are lazy, who cares.. stop working if you think its best for you and the baby.
You are creating and growing an entire human being - no one in their right mind would think of you as lazy. The last few weeks tend to be really difficult. If you are able to take time off, you definitely should! Most people are understanding of the fact that this is a difficult time. Though you should go ahead and do it anyway irrespective of whether your colleagues understand or not.
I also went out 4 weeks early (technically 5 since my kiddo was a week late) when I ended up with really painful carpel tunnel on top of my other symptoms. No one will think you’re lazy!
Thanks everyone. I’ll make this week my last week!
Cont...don’t want my management to think I’m lazy leaving 3 weeks before. I’ve worked through all these terrible symptoms and never used my pregnancy as an excuse.
I just started leave, 3 weeks before due date, and caught so much - SO MUCH - shit for taking the time. Not from coworkers but my SO said multiple times he thought it was too much time off (ill get bored, hurting utilization when i couldddd work, etc)... his coworkers told him i was taking too much time... his parents said they think ill regret taking it ..... my friends parents said so... unbelievable that taking time off should ever be thought of as a negative, especially when growing a human and about to have a huge life change where nothing is about you anymore. Anyway, I am SO GLAD that i have taken this time. We are so lucky to have the ability to take it!
