Not in ID but generally speaking, firms usually ask for motions for summary judgment and sometimes pleadings for litigation roles. I’ve always submitted either a shortened memo of law, reply or opposition papers that were prepared in relation to a motion for summary judgment.

Can you update something you used in law school? Dispositive motions are best for writing samples, but a solid legal memo can work too. If you really don’t have anything, try and take one of your status reports or current case, find some legal issue or make up one, and put together a good memo. Writing samples don’t have to use real facts.

KFC awards creative business to MullenLowe after FOUR ROUNDS OF PITCHES. That’s right. Not only did they ask agencies to pitch over the holidays, they made them come back… not twice, not 3 times. But 4. Times. Arnold? FCB? Fig? Godspeed to the creative team on this business. KFC is the reason this industry is shrinking and creatives are fleeing in droves. Wieden saw this coming from (many) miles away. Good on them. There are good clients and great brands out there….just not this one sadly.
