4 month old refuses bottles completely at daycare. I'd rather not reverse cycle, since sleep is already so precious. Has anyone had success arranging full time WFH while figuring feeding out?

Discuss with your team. Mine has been really understanding with short term needs like that and has never said no when I’ve asked

My daughter did this too - refused the bottle! Have you talked about introducing solids - we started at 4 months mixed with BM to get her through day then she latched for almost an hour once I got home.

have you tried a cup?

This happened to a friend of mine. She figured out through trial and error that it was the temp - needed it to be super hot.

like

Babies are so picky! Adjusting the temp was a first step for us. It hasn't worked so far, but we learned last time that our oldest preferred chilled milk to warmed bottles 🤷‍♀️

Just adding that we introduced a bottle at 6 weeks and have tried just about every type there is. We had the same issue with our firstborn, but it resolved around 6 months when we began introducing solids. I'm assuming it will be a similar scenario this time around. Daycare is 1/2 mile from our home, so I would plan to just go breastfeed her in substitution for the time I'd be pumping.

like

What LOB are you?

You should be able to get this accommodation for at least a short time. Talk to your PML and complete an AWA form.

I started with a syringe so he got used to ingesting the milk from something other than me. The combination of temperature (warming it) and sticking with the syringe he eventually took it. I know what you are going through, it’s heartbreaking. Hang in there mama!

I worked from home 3 days a week and went to breastfeed her on my lunch break. She was a little older though, and she was taking bottles of pumped milk in between so we weren’t relying on that. Have you tried warming the bottle nipple before giving it to her? My daughter would only take the bottle if it was a little hotter than milk is usually warmed up.

All of my kids did this when they went to daycare. It took a few weeks but they wont starve and eventually gave in. Although depending on age, you could go straight to a sippy cup. My third did that when he was 6 months and I went back to work — he skipped right over the bottle.

Hi! I have two offers and I’m not sure what to do. One is with a small firm that serves as outside counsel to medical practices (leasing, employment issues and acquisitions are primary work load) and the other is in-house for a pharmaceutical company (managing outside counsel, vendor contracts, privacy). The firm pays much better (1800 hours, flexible wfh) but I feel like the experience in house would go further in becoming a GC down the road. Please help!
