Be happy this happened. This place is a sinking ship with no life boats in sight. Morale is horrible, projects aren’t selling, and anxiety about layoffs never goes away

Sounds like something IBM would do. I’ve heard multiple stories of employees that were RIF’d and then called 6 months later to come back just because enough projects landed

Several of my friends went through the same thing. People there are also worried about layoffs and have a hard time getting staffed all the time. It's a circus there.

Hey Mates I'm working in pretty good fintech firm. I'm in my 30s with 2 kids and they are calling everyone to office by January I want remote job and would never want to live in any city again. Wondering which route to opt? 1. Start investing in open source and build a profile, find freelance jobs on upwork/Fiverr Or 2. Start giving interviews in remote jobs. FYI I'm terrible at interviews and spoken communications. Please provide your inputs. I want to work remote with good pay.

How to deal with an exploding offer? I interviewed for a company and was very excited for it. 1 recruiter interview & 1 with a couple team members. Then I got a short term offer a few days later, tried to negotiate and they came back a week later with a final offer. Rate stayed the same but was told I need to answer by next day. Thinking outside the box: need H1B renewal stamping, eligible for Dropbox in my home country. However, going there is still risky in case of a 221g and consulates closed. Can I send my passport to my home country through a friend for Dropbox stamping? Once the stamping is done, I can travel to home country (after they courier my passport back) Is this possible or am I going crazy?
