I’m 40F & single and know others who are too. Open to meeting up!

I’m still here - coming up on my 20th anniversary! (41). I think about leaving but can’t decide where to go! New friends are always welcome :) (you too KPMG 1)

Where would you go?

Does the city still offer things you enjoy? Maybe a change of scenery or need to make a few new friends.

I think it’s the same wherever you go as the majority of singles are in their 20s to low 30s.

I just had this conversation recently . In early 40s we’re the tail end of Gen X or very early millennial. We’re actually, by the numbers, a smaller generation to begin with — add in geography and single-ness and that will skew things.

Kinda answered your own question?

Has anyone here taken a role for a west coast startup while living in central / east coast? How has the wlb experience been?

It’s restructuring season. KPMG, GT, and other firms have begun announcing layoffs. Everyone should take some time to polish off their resume. It’s a cold world out there and loyalty means nothing to your employer. Here’s to hoping that everyone lands on their feet and I’ll see y’all in a happier future.

Should I be worried if I have constantly bounced from short project to project (excellent performance) and don't really see myself with a single tangible/transferable skill? I'm 1.5 yrs in & 24.

Moving from big4 to core strategy firm (read MBB). Have 2 months before I join the new firm. Wondering what I can do to prepare myself, are there any courses, books that would help me gain some skills. I have mostly done PMO, tech implementations kind of work so far. Don't want to leave any stone unturned and want to make it work.

Feeling like consulting isn’t the best career for me b/c of the lifestyle and I met someone who I hate being apart from every wk. But I always wanted to reduce gender gap, so I feel conflicted/guilty.

Has anyone used a MBA consultant to help them with the admissions process? I’ll apply in fall 2020 and want to get a better idea of my profile. Any recommendations on consultants would be great!

A lot of companies put out ads or talked about policy or internal changes in response to the BLM movement. I’m wondering if, beyond the immediate ads and statements that were released this actually continued. What are some things your agency has done… or could do to make a real impact in the realm of Diversity, equity and inclusions (DEI).

I have interviewed in BNP PARIBAS and got selected, final HR interview also done. Submitted documents on 5th sep including salary slips, ctc breakup, etc. How much time does it take to generate an offer letter.

Salary negotiation tips / tactics?

Client just scheduled a meeting for later today and sent a to do for me in preparation. We haven’t agreed on a meeting and we’re in theory on holidays until after NYE. What would you ladies do? A. Do it and not say anything? B. Do it, but write an email back that these things should be discussed in advance? C. Ignore it and write an email later saying I wasn’t online? I actually am home, but I just hate it that they always assume we’re working around the clock and never even bother asking.

What do you all think about AWS cloud practitioner Cert? Not worth if I'm studying for cissp?

Getting past phone screens but can’t seem to get passed phone interview. I feel like I’m a good fit for the jobs, but I have no idea what I’m doing wrong. Any specific tips to work on interviewing?

For people here making less than 100K who max out their 401K / HSA, can I have a conversation with you about your taxes paid ? Is it significantly less or is your take home significantly less ? Trying to assess the financial impact to my take home if I max out my 401K. Ty!

Cold applied to McKinsey just for the hell of it. Got a call for a screening. Have no idea what to expect in the screen or overall interview process. Any tips/insights? (I’m now wishing I paid more attention to the MBB interview stuff in this app - I hear there’s a case? Haha 🤔)

On a team of all men, all of whom have PhDs. The level of micromanaging is getting unreal especially because I've worked with this client for 3 years and know more about the project. Anyone have advice for condescending team members? Technically I am the team lead but their levels range

Which big 4 would be better for M&A? I'm interested in eventually attempting a lateral transfer into investment banking. I know it's a long reach but want to have an option that doesn't involve getting an MBA. Thanks!
