Has anyone been legitimately impressed by a CMO or other senior client in a meeting? In my experience, these people are great at articulating their brand priorities but don't always think critically
Hey fishes. I've recently moved to a new project where people aren't friendly. I know we're paid to work and not all colleagues are friendly. But, somehow I just feel very bored here. Its just work, work and work. Is this normal? PS : This is just my second project(~2 yrs exp) and wanted to know if this is common across the industry.
I'm trying to buy a new carry-on size suitcase but am having trouble finding one that fits my requirements. Does anybody know a four wheel spinner bag that's: 1: decent quality build, particularly wheels and handle 2: has a lid that opens and one large compartment (soft or hardside but I don't like the two half clamshell hardsides) 3: looks decent (doesn't have to be fancy/designer, just something I'm not embarrassed to take to a client office) 4: under ~$300
When a client won't budge, how does your legal department handle employees personally reviewing/ signing individual IP ownership agreements, NDAs, etc? Seeing more of this lately.
Have to decide between two projects. Org design project at PS client or innovation/chargeable BD at fortune50? Not knowing anything else- which do you think is more valuable experience?
What's the best way to prepare a business case presentation? I've been invited to a final round interview for a medical device company as a process optimization consultant. They sent me a client case study. In the case there are pain points of the client, and some numbers to analyze their workflow and recommend them to use their medical devices for process improvement. I'm not sure how to stucture it. how would you approach it?
Honest question. When a client asks you a question that you need to refer to the billing attorney (assume it makes sense to do so and copy the client on convo in adding them in) are you all refraining from using the term billing attorney to clarify a role or is it pretty common to do so in client communications? Had one attorney show a sensitivity to the term but never had that happen before. Wondering if that is a common or uncommon sinsitivity?
Lots of us are skilled at delivery but most sales books seem to focus on the pitch and closing... What are your best resources for learning to develop and nurture strong, lasting client relationships?
If Donald trump works from Trump Tower two days a week, is he remote and WFH? As his client, I am not ok with that since his billable rate is really high.
Q for the people that like WFH and never want to go back - what is your living situation? I hate WFH and can’t wait to be back in the office, so curious if other people have adapted better or if their environments are just more conducive to being successful (house with home office and family vs being alone in a 1BR apartment).
Biglaw, capital markets, major market fwiw. Closing a big deal tonight and was told to order in a nice dinner on the client to celebrate. Price range you would spend on this? Would you get dessert? appetizer?
I’m trying to fix my resume, so I can be fully prepared if more layoffs happen at ACN. I really want to include client names, rather than a long description. I know about the NDAs, but what if we’re not disclosing confidential info and the partnership is public? What do you guys suggest? I really want my resume to be noticed.
Two common phrases that, in our industry, we can never utter when talking to a client - "I don't remember" and "I don't know". It is a strict unspoken rule. Any semblance of incompetence is a major no no.
I get more nervous in client meetings when my Director or Manager are present, than if meeting directly with the client 😳
Any Deloitte 🐠 looking for a project? Need a BA or C with very strong excel modeling and Tableau skills for an immediate opportunity. Would love to staff within the family.
Who is doing a Christmas/holiday party or other client appreciation event this year? My partner and I are struggling with what to do given Covid.
My confidence is very low today. I have a few difficult clients who have been disrupting meetings by trying to push current state and I’m trying to come in with different angles because I need to change quite a bit. One of the males who talks at me sent an email asking if I would like overview lessons of how this client works and that just made me feel like shit. I’m the only female on the team and when I ask my SM for help he says “this is your job” and I just need some uplifting. 😑
Just accepted an offer from a former client at an exciting company - Joining the corporate strategy team after 5 years in consulting post mba. I doubled my comp in cash before equity - which is flattering / exciting - but also a lot of pressure … a bit worried they expect me to come in and be a wizard. Any tips / advice?
Getting pigeonholed in my current project. New opportunity for a stretch role in another project. Worked with both PPDs before and will get great reviews either way. Worth trying to roll off?
Anyone have online learning suggestions for analytical skills in python/model building? Similar format to Stephane Maarek’s AWS CCP learning on udemy
Folks that have moved from Management Consulting at a Big 4 to PE Performance Improvement at Alix, AM, etc. what do you find the biggest differences to be? What makes your new role more desirable?
Currently interviewing at Appirio; how’s the culture, compensation, WLB, project work, etc? Anyone here works at Appirio?
Ladies, how do you know if your husband is a father material? My husband is in eager talks about us having children while I am on the fence. My dad took 80% care for me when I was young(cooking, cleaning, diapers, bottle feeding, etc) so my expectations for a father is way higher. My husband, seems to be still in the stage of transitioning from bachelor to husband, like he takes out trash, cook once per week, do laundry (no folding)when I ask. Not sure if that’s what it takes for me to predict.
Anyone go from audit at B4 to a non-audit role at a young, growing company and can offer some advice on finding roles/selling yourself for the position?
If you go on short term disability are you still counted as employed? I was out for 4 months so if another employer checked, will I still have credit for those 4 months?
Was hired into a company at a level that was more junior than my skills (Was out of work due to pandemic for a year). I’ve been at the company 5 months. We’re going through a reorg and my new position will really be leveraging my years of experience more so than other role. Is it appropriate to discuss a raise/adding senior to title? Or should I do the job and then prove myself then talk about raise. I have more experience than the senior members of my team.
What are people making for dinner?! Bored with my usual dinner rotation, want to try something new!
Currently 8 months pregnant. Found out a few weeks ago about my husband’s gambling problem. He said he would get help but still hasn’t. Been feeling pretty emotional about being lied to for our entire short marriage. Got into a big fight today, he left and hasn’t come back and blocked my phone number. Not sure how to handle this and am very tired of being left in the dark again and just feeling alone this entire pregnancy.
Considering applying to KKR capstone, any idea what TC looks like for associates? Base is ~150k according to H1b site
Are guys in Dallas (Texas) usually non-active? Moved here a few weeks back and haven't hooked up with anyone. I usually wait for guys to talk to me proactively and I tend to play games and not response and wait for them to be needy and chase for me.
First year associate here - really freaked out by FS layoffs and think I might be next. How am I supposed to find another job after 6 months?
Anyone use Google Classroom on tablets? And for 2nd grade math? Looking for ideas on how to save copies but I only have tablets
I am an SAP FICO consultant on H1B. Got just laid off and looking for a job. Can you guys kindly give me some leads/referrals.
There are multiple openings for actuarial candidates both in core industry as well as consulting. Comment on this post for further details
People accepted counter offer and got higher pay and raise again. Should I also do this? Is it ethical? I’m in tax NYC office.
