I can of find that hard to believe @EY6. I've never heard of a staff performing at essentially a manager or SrM level.

like

Ratings are gone next year anyway so don't worry about it

like

Whether you are lying or not you are certainly trying to pleasure yourself at this point.

I had a super crappy senior so I basically had to senior the job.

Better question is why anyone would want to

^ from my conversations with execs, this is about the only way you can get a 5 as a staff. You have to luck into a bad spot and then perform at a high level.

Hold on guys EY6 is about to climax. Let him finish

like

^ true, but I suspect similar criteria/metrics apply to reach Gold Standard that it took to get a 5.

like

Basically performed as senior the whole time and had a great relationship with the client.

like

The biggest issue I had with the reasons that I got a 5 is that they are completely dependent on the opportunity being there. I got a list rating this treat mostly because I didn't have the opportunity to step up as much. I realized a few years ago that it doesn't matter how hard you actually work. It's all dependent on things you can't control anyway.

like

EY7 being involved in it doesn't mean doing it. Think more mid - senior level.

like

Well that went downhill in a hurry

Playing it wild and loose with "luck" here, but you know what I mean.

Gold Standard is so subjective. It may or may not be easily attainable. It all depends on who you work for and, in their mind, whether they think you are the best ever. May be possible for seniors, not sure for staff. You would really need to shine.

I got a 5 by senioring as a staff. We have a temporary senior who was not performing at the appropriate level and stepped in. It helped bring on a close monitoring job too

Staff 1 worked internationally and got involved in PD, got good reviews, had a very high utilization. Staff 2, took on more responsibility, ran engagement economics for 3 projects, got involved in winning proposals, led teams

EY7 why would I lie on fishbowl lol. And yes, 3 or 4 of my reviews written by managers and partners said that I was operating at senior/manager level. I'm obviously not winning work, but I'm involved. As staff 2 the teams I was leading were generally 3-8 people.

How did everyone here get into sales? Would love to hear your stories!

I was getting out of the military, had no directly transferable work skills, and needed to make a living in an expensive city (San Diego). Started looking at my options and found that I could do menial labor for just above minimum wage OR I could learn to get people to buy things and make this wonderful thing called commission! Took a job in insurance sales and the rest is history! Been in sales for about 15 years now ❤️

Am I being unreasonable here - my place is up for rent, I did not want pets and I wanted to rent it out furnished. We got an application from some tenants who have two pets and don't want most of the furniture. I'm making an exception and putting the furniture in storage, but I'm adding a security deposit for both pets and also monthly pet rent for both pets. So originally it was $2300, I'm asking for $2380. They are saying they banked on the $2300. Should I try to negotiate $2350?

Trying to get a gauge of if my promotion raise this year was reasonable or not: I’m being promoted to manager in industry and the raise was 15.5%. Given the high inflation environment and the fact that we are getting acquired by a PE firm in a month or two, I would have expected more than that. While I am grateful for the promotion and a raise, I can’t help feeling like I’m getting lowballed at the same time. Does that seem like a good increase for the situation?
