50 year old sister has 102.5 temperature. She’s been at her home mostly but had some contractors come and do some repair work. She doesn’t have any other symptoms but worried it might be Covid. At what temperature, should she go to the hospital.

Go to the ER or urgent care and get a covid test. Strongly recommend ER as turnaround time are faster.

Fevers down to 100 now. She has her teladoc in an hr

She needs to go to the hospital and get tested at 100 degrees. My father is a doctor and has seen patients turn quickly and die at these temperatures. Please encourage her to go to the ER ASAP.

like

Get Covid testing and anti body testing done first right away. Once you know whether she’s positive or negative, it’s a clearer better decision tree from there

Can she FaceTime or video chat with her doctor? They will be the right person to advise her. Depending on her location, it may not be advisable to head to ER as they are overcapacity. Hope your sis recovers quickly!

She should call her dr

Thank you for asking M2. Her fever is down to 98. She’s just taking Giloy tablets and it’s keeping her fever in check.

Good to know! Take care !

Now. She should go to an ER now.

H1 - why do u say that? It’s possible she has fever because of some non Covid issues. She’s asthmatic but has no other health issues. We just got a tele appt with her doc. We are worried hospitals may have high virus overload.

But also have heard people deteriorate very quickly with Covid so unsure.

Sustained temperature >100? Go to ER!

Do you have an Oximeter?

Hmm that’s a little low. Keep an eye if it drops and take her if it does

Have you ever dealt with a colleague that believes in extremely (in my opinion) outdated or even just false claims and treats them as scientific facts? I work with several older men but one of them practices "provocative therapy" as in you just play the devil's advocate with your patient and side with the negative half of their thinking. In theory I could see this working situationally, but as a whole philosophy regardless of the patient's issue I think it's ridiculous.

TLDR: Getting over your ex of 2.5 years ghosting you after they said they wanted to reconnect.

I was dating someone for about 2.5 years and then we broke up because of COVID and the long distance was making it too difficult to continue. The break up must’ve been like a 4-5 minute FaceTime because I was very distraught. After we broke up, she started seeing someone else but I was heartbroken and it’s taken me over a year to really get over everything and process those feelings. (Cont.)

16 weeks and so worried all of the stress I’m under is going to hurt the baby. Between work, my own scary (non-pregnancy) health stuff, the pandemic, my mom (who is a widow and lives alone, basically isolated by choice due to covid) is having health issues, and pressures to keep billable hours up, I’ve been having complete breakdowns. Today I spent almost the entire day crying and now have to make up the billable time this weekend. I really worry abt what effect this will have on the babe.

Last week my dog was officially diagnosed with cancer. She’s going to be 13, the cancer isn’t curable. She’s my first dog. I’m coming off of my own medical issues, I’ve always considered myself a strong person but I feel this is going to break me. I’m not handling it well and people who I’ve considered closest to me have let me down by not being there the way I’ve been there for them when they’ve needed the support in the past. I honestly don’t know how to navigate through this.

How technical does one have for an data Director position?

Very confusing conversations with a number of Large companies on director of data positions. Interviewing they seem to want folks who managed team sizes of 40+ people AND be hands on.

Am I wrong to think this is an oxymoron? Surely how can one delegate to their large team and be hands on? Past few years of consulting I’ve strongly focused on managing large teams and we definitely were discouraged from being hands on tbh
