What are the best resources (research, project management, template databases) you recommend to other in-house counsel? I regularly search EDGAR through my cheap law insider subscription.
How do you set time aside to build your portfolio when you work a normal job?
The feedback I keep getting is my case studies aren’t detailed enough… I get that… however when I work with clients my focus is the user and the client… I don’t sit here and try and create case studies… I’m about results for my client…
So how do you build your case studies?
Planning has been weaponized, mainly here to make sound strategic that which isn't. We're good at it and have it in our title, so off we're sent to the client/creatives/pitch, to sell. Feel the same?
I just got assigned to a case that was handled by an associate who’s leaving the firm. The partner wasn’t involved in the case, and told me that he wouldn’t be really involved at this point too until necessary. Since I told the client (the point of contact in a big company), he has been “yelling” at me in his emails for things that aren’t my fault. How do you “not let” this kind of stuff get to you? I know that I have nothing to be concerned as I didn’t do anything wrong, but it still upsets me.
Anyone else on a project with constant anxiety knowing it's all going to come crashing down (and yes, I've raised these concerns to leadership many times)
Hope you and your families are doing well..

Such thing as internal opportunities at BCG or any roles that are not completely client facing/I'd have some sort of work life balance?
I've made no new friends in quarantine and I miss having the random chats with people at the client or in the office. I'm a married guy so there isn't much opportunity anyways. If other married folk are starting to crack out if boredom, DM me.
Anyone have a freelance contract template they like for project work? I want to make sure I manage scope creep and get paid. Thanks!

I’m currently doing public sector and defence consulting but find it very chill yet still good money and would like to push myself. Will this background make it difficult to progress/apply to other firms?
Hi, I want to switch up my hair more often with wigs/extensions (all my natural hair color). Anyone have experience with what I might experience at client site?
Client calls you at midnight but im starting a 4 day weekend so I DGAF until Tuesday. seriously, calling me at midnight? How common is that? It's been a client from hell
The only thing I like about my job is the paycheck. I don’t like my clients, my client’s industry, the work, or my agency. I am ambivalent about my coworkers. Some seem like nice people, some not.
No one knows this however. I am a big fake. People think I have passion for “the work”. I don’t. ☹️
Thinking of accepting an offer from D and will be an internal role rather than client serving but still within assurance only this time will be supporting audit professionals. Thoughts on this type of move (from client facing to internal)? How is WLB in assurance in D if you’re on a support role?

Best way to jump from Federal to Commercial? I want more project variety and an opportunity to do strategy work. Does Deloitte S&O do lateral hires at the analyst/consultant level?
EY folks- if I will work for a client fully remotely from my home ( it’s an approved location) without going to client site, there is no need for me to submit LCA assessment for the client site, correct?

Can someone help me understand how BIPOC is intended to be more inclusive? I'm genuinely asking. I'm a PoC and BIPOC makes me feel more excluded and unseen.. Why is every other PoC a group category?
Had an associate of mine recently confront me and say he has a crush on me. Told him nope and that would be very unprofessional. He has reassured me that this won’t impact our working dynamic but lately there’s been a lot of pushback on any direction given to him or the team. I’m growing concerned he is holding something against me.
How should I approach this?
Dug up an interesting old watch gifted to my dad from the manufacture. Believe this is one of the earlier prototypes Sea-Gull used to develop their tourbillon movement (this one doesn’t have a real tourbillon). I love its dial but don’t think this particular model made to production for some reason.
I know it's important to fit in with your team, even if you wouldn't necessarily hang out with those types of people outside of work. But how far is too far? I work in the South and am thinking of dying my hair to a lighter color (blonde) just to look more like them and not stand out. I don't know if I'm going too far or just need to move to another area.
Any land/ lot owners here? I’m looking/ hoping to connect before I make my first purchase. I’d appreciate your time.
