How much less is compensation in other markets (outside major US cities)? Thinking in particular of London and Hong Kong.

Significantly less. I've heard Europe is ~70% of NY and Asia is less than 50%.

Is this true at the partnership level? I've heard partners are compensated roughly the same (depending on the comp model) but associates make less.

Not sure abt the partner level - but I do know that American firms pay really well in London, while the Magic Circle firms don’t really.

HK is Carvath scale for most foreign firms. UK is a bit less but your lateral options to move upward may pay off better.
