I don't flaunt them, but it's not a secret or anything. It's 2019 for crying out loud.
Same
I have a scales of justice on my wrist. I hope they see it.
Is this for real...
If you're an attorney you shouldn't really have tattoos that you can't cover...
Head shoulders knees and toes knees and toes
If you are good at your job no one will care! And if they do, then don’t work with them
Mine are strategically placed.
Wear them proudly. This Is the eta of diversity in big law. The less clean cut the better. Also the juries love it
I’ve got plenty of tattoos but I also wear a suit every day, so there’s not much chance for anyone to see them.
Live your truth. People will respect you more for it. You aren’t going to lose because of tattoos. You might end up connecting with someone who also has tattoos or appreciates the content of your tattoos and that connection might elevate you.
Justice!
Have one on my back so pretty easy to hide
I have multiple tattoos. I don’t flaunt them but i don’t freak out too much. For example, if I come in on the weekend to do work and I’m wearing short sleeves people are gonna see them. Nobody cares.
I’ve never seen one on anybody at the office (big law) except on weekends, and I know for a fact that it’s considered inappropriate to display them. Tattoos, gold chains on men, nail art, stilettos: these are all things that, home truth, will reflect poorly on you. Don’t fool yourself into thinking nobody cares. It will be 30 more years before the people who truly don’t care will be making the big decisions.
My sense is that people might think the tattoos are inappropriate or whatever l (I keep my concealed during the week BTW) but if I’m doing good work then it’s not going to have an effect on how they think of me really. Do you disagree with that? Honestly curious.
