How about when you're working an elementary lunch with 5th graders (mostly boys) who won't stop bouncing basketballs, soccer balls, etc. as they're lining up to go inside and you yell "Stop bouncing your balls, hold on to them and keep them still! or "Hold onto your balls and quit dribbling" because you got laughter from the first phrase. Rephrasing didn't go as planned.

Happened to me once a when we were lining up to go outside. A few of the boys were bouncing miniature basketballs they got as prizes from some school event. I said, “Boys hold you balls. “ It was so hard to keep a straight face with all the laughter that followed. I learned to always say what kind of ball it was before I asked them to hold them.

We were practicing staying on topic, so I listed a few things in a category. Sun, moon, stars. They did well and we got to the last girl. Universe, galaxy, Uranus… and a snicker. All the rest stared at her confused.

I’m moving to LA in 2 months and want to stay in a short term rental before finding an apartment to rent for a full lease term. there is so much I don’t know, and the more I learn, the more I feel I don’t know about the city. Hi all, I am currently a school counselor, I have been interviewing for jobs and i received an offer from Job A. I am waiting to hear back from Job B, my preferred job. Job A is working at. K-8 school and a large case load, and it doubles my commute. Job B is my preferred age group, a smaller caseload and a much easier and shorter commute. Job A wants an answer by end of day today and Job B said they’d get back to me early this week. I don’t want to settle for Job A if I don’t have to :(
