This is so helpful thank you. Still looking for a mentor and I'd rather be prepared when I ask people rather than just approaching them with nothing. Appreciate this!

This is really great! This has been on my mind for a while now but I'm always overwhelmed with work so I sometimes forget about it. I'll take this as a sign. Thank you! :)

This is SOOOO helpful. Thank you for sharing this. People often ask how to find a mentor so I am going to save this to pass along the next time someone asks me.

Guys - any recommendations on comfortable "just chilling" t-shirts? I generally like a heavier workout type shirt. Don't love cotton t-shirts because they shrink, wrinkle, and catch dust easily.

Just found out I’m pregnant, so probably about 5-6 week, but I had a trip to Arizona planned in the next few weeks with a day or two in Vegas. Definitely won’t be drinking but all the casinos are heavily Smokey and I’m concerned about its affects on my baby. Would you just drop by for a buffet meal and bounce or just stay for the two days? Why?

Partners, how do they count your earnings at your firm? For instance, if you are awarded a $20 million contract because of a winning proposal in which another Partner was equally involved@during capture and development, etc, is $20 million counted in both Partners’ earnings or a split? What are some of the factors in earnings calculation?

Additional Posts in Human Resources

I’ve noticed in the past year no upper management guidance or vision. I work within a division and no town hall meetings, no communications from upper management and when they are in its “sorry we’ll talk about it next time” many of my peers in other business functions have said the same and the region leaders have also made similar comments about where are we going and what’s next. Constantly it’s been getting pushed to me to communicate but I have nothing since information is low. Common now?

Hello!

Is anyone hiring for roles such as Senior Recruiter/Resource Management/Talent Business Advisor/L&D?!

I was recently laid off for my company, a Big 4 firm, and am urgently looking for my next role. Anyone I can connect with or get referrals from would be greatly appreciated.

I am open to onsite or remote. Located in California so anywhere in California would be considerable.

I am currently an HR professinal of 3 years with past background as a teacher/advisor in higher ed. I am aiming to pivot to a more L&D, training specialist type role in order to leverage the skills obtained in both areas. It would be the perfect career for me. Any openings or hiring at your company? I am not super concerned about the title as long as there is room for growth and I can pay for my 3 kids' daycare tuitions. ;)

Hi Everyone.

I’ve said this before and this is reminder to myself as well. What we say, like, comment, and share on FB or other social platform can hurt our job search, promotions or even our employment status.

I pulled a candidate for screening and due to the complexity of the role, I shared the candidates resume with the HM prior to screening. The HM immediately found the candidate on FB and the first thing he saw was a PUBLIC post the candidate wrote going on full attack

Severance question. I was laid off from my last company and luckily found something a week after being let go. My old company found out I got a new job from my LinkedIn and now wants to take my severance away "because I don't need it anymore and it's not a good look for the company paying someone severence when they are employed somewhere else." This is after the Severence Plan Agreement was signed but before it has been paid out. Is this a normal practice this companies and laying people off?

My CEO is looking to tighten up our work from home program and get people back into the office more. Most are out 3 to 4 days a week. It's not that they aren't working, but we are missing the energy you get as a collective. I suggested 3 days in office 2 days out and the 3rd week of the month is a hell week, everyone is in 5 days!!! (Of course i wouldn't say that publicly, just for the explanation of this scenario) Any suggestions. I would love to know if anyone else is in a similar situation

As an experienced, SHRM certified HRBP , I would just like some feedback on your opinion of the differences in the roles between an HRBP an HR Manager besides the obvious that the manager should have direct reports. I am an HRBP and work in step with 3 HRM’s. They all 3 just got out of cycle raises of between 5-20% 😳 and I received nothing. I am quite aware of our HR code that salary is confidential but I was told about this. Would you be looking for other employment? Or stay?

I think he would like to get back into sales/account management but looking to see what everyone’s advice would be in terms of type of roles and companies to go after!
