60,000 points to stay at a JW Marriott. Worth or no?

Take cost if you paid, divide points by cost. Compare to benchmarks

Honestly, I’d say no but I usually go for quantity over quality with redemptions. Plus idk about you, but the ability to earn 60k points again isn’t looking great in this current climate so I would make my points stretch for the time being.

Trust me I do use them. I just spread them out. But it’s all what your preferred travel style is. When I’m traveling usually it’s to explore so I’m not spending big on hotels just to be out and about all day. But I’ve definitely had times (I can think of Bali) where I would split time between a Four Points and a Ritz over a trip just to get a feel for what the ‘good life’ is like but still save some points. Also I would take maybe 5-6 big international trips a year so I would need to budget my points appropriately but if this is a dream trip then go ahead and splurge.

like

Only 3 that meet this - Savannah, Marco Island or Nashville. It all depends on the cash rates - Marco Island is usually pretty expensive so I would use points there. And there’s no other options. Not sure about Savannah. I’ve never been but I assume the prices are pretty cheap for the JW or other options. Nashville - too many options to waste that many points at the JW.

But is the JW better than the Perry Lane? Probably not…

So many variables - where? What time of year? What type of room?

Category 6 resort in the South, now, and hoping for a suite upgrade

Depends on where and what dates

Category 6 resort in the South and now so peak season?

For four nights?

One lol

Is it the most efficient use of points? Maybe but probably not. Does it sound like you're interested in treating yourself to this specific night? Yes. Is it worth using your points however makes you happy? I'd say yes. It might not be the most efficient but unless you've immediate plans to stay at 6 category 1 hotels or want to transfer that to 25k airline miles to fly to Europe, then I say do it. No value in sitting on a quickly depreciating asset

No unless the room is $500+ (roughly 0.9 cent per point) and you would have spent that in cash. I’d rather use the points for best value and splurge with cash on the best property available (can increase upgrade odds, points earning, and cash at the end of the day)

Is this the Jw marco island? The resort experience itself is worth it. I have been 4 times as an ambassador and have never gotten an upgrade or early/late checkout. (just a higher floor). Still love it.

No.
