That salary continuation is pretty damn great. I had a pip as well for 45 days they said I did great and got great feedback afterwards on my work but then they fired me and I got 45 days of pay. Just take the 90. With a potential recession looming get out now so you aren’t looking when it’s too late. Maybe it’s worth taking the 60 day pip though if you think the company will act mature and truly evaluate you appropriately even after the pip. Happy to help more just dm me!

Opinion from the UK, so take it with a grain of salt…

Take the 90 days. They’ve probably already decided they don’t want you,. I’d rate your chances of success at a PIP as low, regardless of how much you ace it. Seriously reflect on why you received the PIP in the first place, and use that for succeeding in your next endeavour.

Also…think of a credible reason for leaving to use at interview which stacks up against your goals/motivations for a new role.

Period

90 days... Focus on yourself... Cut costs, exercise, hobbies...

Exactly! Because I’m loyal to no one but myself, I’d take the 90 days of salary and find new work and get more money. However, if you enjoy what you do and you think that you can overcome the challenges then take the 60 day PIP. Just know it will come with some baggage of proving yourself after the fact

IM OUT YALL. Love it.

Good luck! Enjoy the downtime

At least they gave you an option.

OP - If your PIP is truly retaliatory, report it to the Ethics and compliance hotline we have. I find it hard to believe that, if it truly is retaliatory and not due to your low performance, KPMG would let this fly.

I know people who have recovered from a PIP, but to be honest, if they are offering you a termination package ALONGSIDE the PIP, then I would safely assume your career there is over and just focus on the path that will make it easier for you to land your next job.

I would take the 90 days and leave! The job market is hot, enjoy 60 days and then start looking

I'd take the 90. Go full speed on a job search. Then once I had an offer in hand, slow play it and say I need a long runway so I could really relax and enjoy some downtime before a new gig.

like

Looks like they already made up their mind. Take the extra 30 days pay and start looking for a new job. It also gives you a few days off to relax.

like

Sounds like they already plan on getting rid of you, so why would you want to got through 60 days of PIP agony back get 90 days to look ? Definitely go with 90 days pay vs 60

@D2 - why that emoji? Is everyone supposed to know everything?

Former Hr here.. I’ll recommend you - pick option 2 (90 day salary) and focus on interviews - no one in todays time bother yo ask if any gap in resume. Pip’s are designed to pressure the employee no matter how brilliant one is. I used to hate calling out project managers if they used bully the employee by setting unrealistic timeline. Focus on self - not on organization.

like

If they let you go after the 60 day PIP, wouldn't they owe you a severance package?

I'd stay, but focus on interviewing for other jobs during the PIP.

Manager

Remember that Human Resources doesn’t work for you. They are paid by the company. Their job is to protect the company from lawsuit by employees or the government. It’s a sad reality.

PIP but just look for new jobs. A lot harder to get a job while unemployed just don’t do shit at work they’ll let you go anyways

like

I would do PIP and look for a new job, that way do don't have to say you were let go

like

You never have to say you were terminated or that you resigned preemptively. Just say you quit.

Not sure how big your practice is but you can recover from a pip if you like what you do and can work with other people in your practice

I know a senior consultant that was entered into a PIP by HR maybe 4 years ago. He was assigned a new counselor and that counselor had to heavily supervise the SC and manage his work. It seemed as if the PIP was mostly a punishment on the Manager who had to counsel him during the PIP because they both complained about the PIP process and the SM confirmed it was solely due to low utilization because the SC was continued to be ignored for projects, but no one could understand why. He wasn’t social so out of sight, out of mind. He survived the PIP after many many months (6 or more I believe) and I am pretty sure he quit anyway because during the PIP he had to hit 100% utilization and the only way the counselor could ensure that was to constantly find work for him to do which stressed the Manager/Counselor pretty hard.

Ask for 120 days but before you sign talk to an attorney maybe you could get 365 days given their behavior.

Capex spend vs Opex. Running into challenges with client (IT sponsor) who wants to tag everything to Capex, but we keep running into roadblocks with the client finance person who rejects the PO request and reminds the sponsor that true dev is capex, but all feasibility work, data cleanup, training and support is Opex. Looking for creative suggestions on how you may have navigated this. I’m stuck in the middle of a freakin policy battle with both sides sticking to their extreme opinions. Help!
